I do not want post this. I have been thinking of posting this but I changed my mind and give Smart Team some chances. But I am really disappointed with Smart Team hosting service. Jayce Ooi’s Paradise had been down for more than 5 times last few days. And the down time was more than 2 to 3 hours each time. They did not fulfill 99.8% server uptime and 99.9% network uptime. This is what the SLA stated. I am fine with system reboot during system maintain such as apply patches for better security or performance. But not like 3 hours.
Hey, Smart Team tech support! If you guys read this, remember this! I am an Information System Engineer in MNC. I managed more than 20 servers in my lab. None of them have more downtime than yours. Come on, you must detect the error before your customer tell you. What is 24/7 server monitoring mean? Why there is no reply when I call or email or even online chat? The server uptime never more than 2 weeks. System uptime is 2 Hours and 14 Minutes for the moment. Whenever I say I want a stable server, you ask me to change to yours priority server but all the features is the same except the price. So what is the meaning?? I wonder…
Sorry for all the rude words. I really cannot accept after more than 5 times server down in less than 2 week time frame. And forgive me also as the stock market did not perform well lately. (I will kill anybody if they make me angry. Yes, I mean it. 
) Hmm… I am fine now after writing all of these down. OK…
By the way, I will keep everyone update on Smart Team server uptime statistic from time to time.

thank you for the visit. well, I’ve been used http://www.sultanhost.com for almost 2 years. Based on my past, my websites facing downtime for 2 times, due to the maintainance. Maybe you should consider other reliable hosting company.
I might consider change to a better hosting company if Smart Team let me down again without any good reason.
Finally… Smart Team changed server for me. This server’s system uptime == 63 Days, 1 Hours and 6 Minutes. This is the same server as bernie.net.my (server that my friend website reside in) I sign up with Smart Team because of my friend else I will use other hosting service.
Server down is indeed a BIG problem for a popular website like blog and e-commerce, I faced same problem as you before… but it is all fixed now…
I hate server down. Anyway, SmartTeam did not offer the cheap package that I using now. Therefore, I will change to another better and cheaper hosting next year.

The package I am using right now is not longer available from SmartTeam anymore. Therefore, I decided to change to another company next year.
SmartTeam Starter Pack and Priority Hosting still cannot compete with the one that I am going to subscribe.

Same to me too, Smatteam give me alot of problem. Even i need to open my ftp account and create new ftp account. Now, this hosting give me new addict, can not open FTP and create new ODBC.
I think they can’t handle this problem already,, what should we do… I very disappointed with this hosting.
Just change your hosting company lo. I changed to HostMonster.com already.
some time they calculate average by year or by every 5 year, so at the end, the uptime still more then 99.5%
Whatever how they calculate… I won’t use back the Smart Team hosting. Their support is way too slow.
Hi Jayce, I am currently using smartteam and really disappointed. I found out when I log on to the back-end to do or install something, the site will be down after a few hours. Now I am considering either monsterhost, justhost or fatcow.
What is your feedback about monsterhost?
Have you ever have problem to get your domain login information from smartteam?
I have sent request to smartteam 4 days ago request for my mynic login information and they still haven’t reply me. Really disappointed.
@Tony: Try to call them. No issue to get your domain info as the domain is owned by you.
I am using HostMonster after dump SmartTeam. No issue after using it for 18 months. You can benchmark the loading speed using my blog.

I just found this blog page, although i’m 2 1/2 years out of date I have exactly the same problems with smart team. They don’t answer the phone, even their sales hotline, and their service is the worst.
I use 3rd party monitoring equipment because i don’t trust their figures, and it’s not too uncommon to get days with just 90% uptime. Today they have excelled themselves and my site (the shared server, not just my url) has been down for 15 hours so far with no sign of improvement. As per usual, it’s impossible to get them to respond to phone, text or email.
As per your recommendation, i’m looking at hostmonster too. I like what i see so far, and their toll-free number can be called from malaysia for free by using skype and skypeout (for toll-free you don’t need any skype credits). They are currently charging $5.95 per month, which seems reasonable, if the service is reliable.
So before I switch I just have to ask, do you still recommend hostmonster, now that you’ve been with them a while?
Heard that they are going to close shop soon.
