Hey, everybody. Let’s be Kawan WWF-Malaysia!!!. What is Kawan WWF? Oh… Kawan WWF in English means Friend of WWF. I just became Kawan WWF this afternoon after I signed up to contribute RM30 monthly to WWF-Malaysia. WWF-Malayisa has a road show in my company for several times already. I ignored them all the time until this afternoon. I finally stopped by and listened to what they did. I signed up to contribute in the end.

I am glad that I sign up. All the contributions from Kawan WWF have helped make some WWF projects reality. Below are some of the projects.

• A study of whales, dolphins and dugongs in Peninsular Malaysia has been conducted which will help us determine the conservation needs of theses marine mammals by identifying the populations and species, and their major threats. Based on initial findings, recommendations for further work towards the conservation of these species will be made.
• A turtle and terrapin education and awareness programme for the local coastal community in Paka-Kertih, Terengganu was set up recently. Along with a turtle sanctuary centre, this programme will play a major contributing role in the conservation of our magnificent turtles and their close relative, the terrapin, and their habitat.
• Contributions from Kawan WWF has helped to establish the Fraser’s Hill Nature Education Centre (FHNEC).The Centre provides visitors with information and nature activities.
