Have you heard Elsa Erazor X before? If you have, then you must be playing computer games back in year 2000. It is a Nvidia GeForce 256 powered display card. And it is the most powerful 3d card back then.

Elsa Erazor X
This card had served me a lot of the years since 2000. It replaced my Intel 740 and Voodoo 2. And I played lots of 3D games with it.
However, I have to say good bye to it today. I am not sure why but it acts wired lately. It did not display well and some colour gone. And picture is corrupted even at windows booting up. It is time to let it retired. Therefore, I put back Intel 740 display back on the system.
Huh? No more games then? I seldom play computer games since I start to work. And my home computer (Intel Pentium II) does not allow me to do so either. Planned to buy a new computer this year. However, the budget went to Canon EOS 400D Digital camera, Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM lens and Canon Speedlite 580 EX2 flash. Wish to add more lens instead to change a new computer right now.
Lol, you were still using that card? Mine died quite some time ago.
Less of games, eh? Same here. But I still sneak a few hours in a week
But that’s about to go up a few hours more I reckon. Hunting for a Wii you see lol.
Yalo… No money to buy a new PC ma. Keeping more money and waiting for Nehalem to come out too. In the mean time, photography is my games lo…
Come on, that’s not an excuse to avoid gaming! But anyway, I’m gonna get a DSLR soon too (but dunno how soon ler…). It’s not going to be a Canon though so I guess we won’t be able to swap lenses
Which model you plan to buy? Nikon D300? He.. He.. Need to think carefully before buy anything lo… And get a good lens. Flash will help in low light environment too.
Lol, D300 is for semi-pros already. I’m just a hobbyist right now. Nothing more than 2.5k for me
I am still using the NVIDIA GeForce 256 on my AMD Duron 700MHz PC, it already 7 years old and it still serve me pretty well.
Anyway, 3 months ago, the heatsink fan on the video card spoiled, it can’t spin anymore. So, guess what I did to it???????
I went to DIY shop, bought a small fan for video card, it kind of generic fan special for video card mod. Unscrewed the old fan, put in the new fan on top of the heatsink, ho lahh, it work again…….. and now I still using that aged Nvidia video card…… I am not gonna change it….. for another 2 years, provided it still working fine… LOL.
Good lo… My Elsa Erazor X’s fan still working fine. Just its GPU chip got problem. So cannot use at all lo… Ha… Ha… Poor Nvidia chip…
hahah, reminds me of all the old machines I have running at home.
Wow… You still have it running? Most of mine die already.
