The Eden Handicap Service Centre Berhad is a non-profit organisation not related to any business group, enterprise or company. It was started in 1991 with a simple concept: to help the disabled come to terms with their disabilities, to engage them in fellowship with other disabled and able-bodied friends, and to provide adequate training to place them in suitable jobs.

What are the services provided by Eden?
Eden complements the government’s Social Welfare Department and organise activities such as 1-stop welfare organisation, home visits, transport for disabled to hospital, job placement, social activities and more. The Eden Day Care and Hostel first opened its doors on 23 June 1994. It was established with the objective of fulfilling the therapeutic, educational and welfare needs of the disabled. Eden training unit also aims to provide disabled (both physically and intellectually disabled) persons the opportunity to acquire basic living, social and work-related skills. Handicraft classes were run on ad-hoc basis with trainees who were physically disabled. The recycling workshop was started with the vision to encourage the disabled become self-confident and independent. This unit is also a source of income for the centre and supports the global call to save the environment. IT Training began on a part-time basis in 1993 with local volunteers tutoring the disabled.
