Jayce, I have burn CD before. I have install a dual operating system Windows and Ubuntu on the notebook. With Ubuntu I am able to burn CD and DVD. So I guess there are nothing wrong with the hardware. Maybe I need to upgrade the driver.

Jayce, Windows was able to read the content of the CD or DVD. But was unable to burn the CD or DVD showing 0 space available when you insert a blank CD or DVD.

I found the sound driver here in this link from Cheryl G’s Jan31 forum post and external mic now working fine, although built-in mic is still not giving sound. Just to share with you and your readers, regards Bill

I encounter mic problem (no sound or very soft sound) for XP installed on Compaq presario C778TU model.

Do you know any driver that can solve the problem? I have used Conexant driver but the mic recording is still problem. Thank you.

This website rocks! Still cant solve the prob with the mic. With WinXP, how do you auto detect the audio firmware online? I can’t get it to auto detect any drivers online. Furthermore I tried plugging in an external mic, also cannot function. Any advice on this?

RR, i not agree with u abt the install driver 1st before sp3. I install the winxp with slipsteam sp3 inside, then only i install the webcam driver. work perfectly.

Make sure you install the webcam driver 1st before update to SP3, otherwise the webcam will not work, it will show error (webcam 101) in the device manager.
