Download Compaq Presario CQ20, CQ40, CQ45, CQ50 series Windows XP Driver

HP Compaq Presario has a new series of notebooks after HP Compaq Presario C700 series Notebook PC that I have. As usual, HP Compaq does not provide Windows XP Driver for these Hp Compaq Presario CQ20, CQ40, CQ45, CQ50 series which are Presario CQ20-125TU, Presario CQ20-126TU, Presario CQ40-101TU, Presario CQ40-102TU, Presario CQ40-103TU, Presario CQ40-104TU, Presario CQ45-127TX, Presario CQ45-128TX, Presario CQ45-129TX, Presario CQ45-130TX, Presario CQ50-104AU, Presario CQ50-105AU, Presario CQ40-115AU, Presario CQ40-111AU, Presario CQ40-125AX, Presario CQ45-107AU, Presario CQ45-108AU…

I have Windows XP driver for C700 series at HP Compaq Presario C700 series Notebook PC Windows XP driver. However, I do not have HP Compaq Presario CQ20, CQ40, CQ45, CQ50 series Windows XP driver. So where can you download Compaq Presario CQ20, CQ40, CQ45, CQ50 series Windows XP Driver?

Lets me know if you manage to find some. I am willing to update the list here. Thanks. 🙂

  1. i already try to the new series of Compaq CQ series for one week, even you success intalled the windows also the sound driver can not go through,
    i think is the chipset of mother board not support, till now i still don’t have solution ^^

  2. Sorry to hear that. C700 series Windows XP drivers are better in this case. Only sound driver that having issue right now. The rest of the drivers are working fine. 😉

    i just bought a laptop CQ40…
    i tried several times to install vista but when Vista was on “completing installation” step it just stop at a point… and i just wait for a couple of hours only to find out it didnt even moved a bit… does it mean there is something wrong??

  22. WINXP driver for Compaq Presario CQ45-127tx – Needed. Tried to install xp but upon booting .. get a Hang situation and at times it goes to BSOD. MUST I install the ich9 sata driver at WinXp setup? Please need help.

  26. Anyone know abou the Streamyx free PC package? The pc comes with windoes vista basic. I would like to install windows XP instead but couldn’t get the driver in HP website as they only provide vista as usual….the free PC is Compaq Presario Q2000 Desktop with Intel ATOM 330. it is a low end PC for normal paper work. Can anyone suggest/provide the relevant XP drivers? 🙂 thx

    I have surfed through the Compaq website and there’s only a few drivers found. Still searching for the Audio, VGA, Wireless, & whatever drivers I can find related to this notebook.

    If I knew this will happen, I would have purchase a different make.

    To all of you out there and to anyone who knows about this driver issue, please help me.

    To HP Compaq, if you don’t do anything about this, well, my next notebook will definitely not be Compaq…….that’s 4 sure.

    already got the driver for it (IDT driver) for windows XP. but always error on detecting the hardrive..

  68. I’ve got new compaq CQ40-553tu. The tehnician installed windows XP as I wanted, but later on I foynd out they have to Install new BIOS, because this model does not support XP ,just Vista. Problem is my XP work , but I dont have microphone volume contol slider, only for recording , but not for playback. My Question…is that due to audio driver(where can I gat the right one) or is it due to a bad BIOS they have installed ?? Thank everyone reading this post. 🙂

  73. try to install Vmware in ur vista, you would be able to run winXP very nicely in your Vista by virtualization in a true manner.
    I have all driver for CQ50 Au107 for winXP except bluetooth so I de cided don’t to change Vista in my laptop.

  87. HP has determine to not support WinXp for Presario CQ product series. So, that is what you all experienced. Less driver and make u have an headache.

    You must use Windows Vista !!!

    1. 1st copy/extract all file in xp cd to local drive-folder.

    2. download n-lite s/w.

    3. download SATA driver – Aa****.inf ( Hope you will have 1 )

    Follow instruciotn.. ( choosing paths of xp & driver file )
    don’t forget to choose bootable & Drivers options (Enabled)

    Save an iso copy for future.
    burn to disc
    reboot..

    DONT FORGET TO SHARE N HELP OTHER CQ SUFFERERS..

  119. hey Dude ! I use CQ40-532TU with Vista, somehow quite good !! anyway we use the same template, hehehehe..check mine, nearly the same, but you have modified it, mine is just the standard template, hehehehe…need your lecture i reckon 🙂

    I am having some issues with the speakers of my CQ 20, not quite sure if it is really the speakers that is havign soem problem with coz whenever I use the ear phones it will work, but qithout it i cannot hear anything on my laptop. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks

  160. Sorry, meant to type Windows 7 64-bit, but I guess a 32bit will work as well? I’ve tried LG and Camfrog and other software, but nothing seems to work.
