Help… My Panasonic TX-32LX75M TV HDMI cannot work with PC. The story goes like this… I bought a HDMI cable from Carrefour last month. It was a value HDMI cable. I tried to connect my girl friend notebook BenQ Joybook S42 to the TV with this new cable. However, I failed to get a clear picture on my Panasonic TV. It does not have problem to display at 1366×768 resolution while using PC Mini D-sub 15-pin cable. I have a clear picture. However, it failed when using HDMI cable. By the way, the BenQ Joybook S42 laptop is using Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT display card. I tried different resolutions but still failed. And I don’t believe that Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT is causing the issue. Therefore, I brought my new desktop to the living room to test. I used Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 to test. But the result is same ~ blur text and not sharp at all.
Did have a faulty HDMI cable? Well, I asked my friend to test it for me. And it is working on his TV. So it is not Carrefour value HDMI cable issue…
Finally, I emailed Panasonic Customer Care Centre in Malaysia. And I got reply from them that this Panasonic TX-32LX75M TV HDMI cannot work with PC. Below is the reply…
Dear Jayce,
Subsequent to our acknowledgement below, we would like to clarify as follows:
- Mini D-sub 15-pin cable can support sampling structure (Y:U:V) of 4:4:4 and resolution of 1366 x 768. Thus no problem for TV display panel to have sharp display.
- Output from PC usually has sampling structure (Y:U:V) of 4:4:4: but HDMI cable normally only support sampling structure (Y:U:V) of 4:2:2 and resolution 720p or 1080i or 1080p. But because TX-32LX75M is not a Full HD TV, thus only goes up to 720p. Due to these circumstances (different in format), picture quality will not be as clear as what from the mini D-sub 15-pin cable.

Panasonic TX-32LX75M TV is my first LCD TV. And it let me down already. Why I say so? Because my friend’s TV does not have problem using HDMI with PC even though it is not Full HD. His 32″ TV also has 1366×768 resolution only. And he is getting clear picture on his TV with HDMI PC connection. By the way, he is using LG brand TV.
Is there any setting that I can set in my PC display driver to output clear picture to my Panasonic TX-32LX75M TV with HDMI cable? Anybody can help?

…hmm, I faced the other problem with my brother-in-law Sharp 32″ LCD TV which support 1366×768. Icant get it to display 1366×768 using a PC with Sapphire ATI Radeon 3000 series and it only can goes up to 1024×768,
@Wing Loon: Maybe upgrading your display driver to the latest one will help.
didnt try that but my brother-in-law is ok with the settings, so no worries
I live in Brasil and have the same problem. I bought a Panasonic tc26lx80lb, i think is similar to yours, and it works perfectly with the 15 pin cable, but the image quality is poor with the hdmi cable. have you found a solution?
@Joao Marcos: Nope. I am still stuck with D-sub 15-pin cable.
i suppose it’s because the frequency in hdmi mode is limited to 30hz interlaced.
