Hmm… I am not sure why it is named as pig flu. Does it have anything to do with pig? Pig flu is also known as swine influenza A (H1N1). If you are alive and stay connected with this world… You should know swine flu already. Try to search at Google if you still don’t know.
There are dying cases because of this swine flu. This is bad. There was SARS last few years. And here come another pig… flu… Luckily, I did not plan to travel lately. Staying at home is the best thing to do right now. Go out less. Malaysia still doesn’t have any case for the moment. Who know? It might have in near future. Hopefully, don’t have.
Look at the bright side… Go out less == spend less.
I think they called it pig flu becos the pig spread the virus to human, and then human spread to human…
Swine Flu is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza virus. It’s a common disease in pigs especially during winter months. Normally these cases occured in persons with direct exposure to pigs but this time the viruses(H1N1) are different from human H1N1 viruses. Therefore, the vaccines for common human flu would not protect you from H1N1 swine flu. So, take good care everyone:)
Ya…better dun eat Bah Kut Teh for the meantime
but its not in msia yet right?
Hopefully it wont affect us.
Hopefully it won’t become a pandemic like SAR.
We were already badly hit by the world financial crisis
I wonder how bad it really is. How many people on earth and how many have it???? We get sick all the time but no one talks about it.
objection, objection…not fair 4 us porks…^ ^
well, the porks not the cause…so WHO has rename it “2009 H1N1″…
@kenwooi: No case in Malaysia yet.
the spread of AH1N1 or Swine Flu is really scary. It is a good thing that this virus is not very deadly. We are advised to take Vitamin-C and to wear face masks.
the use of face masks and boosting your immune system by taking lots of vitamin-C is still an effective way of preventing the spread of the Swine Flu virus.
If you look at the pandemic of 1977, when H1N1 or Swine Flu re-emerged after a 20 year absence, there is no shift in age-related mortality pattern. The 1977 “pandemic” is, of course, not considered a true pandemic by experts today, for reasons that are not entierely consistent. It certainly was an antigenic shift and not an antigenic drift. As far as I have been able to follow the current events, the most significant factor seems to have been that most people, who were severely affected, were people with other medical conditions.
We should be thankful that the swine flu did not spread very rapidly. it is not very deadly like Ebola but swine flu can still kill you.
