It is not a minor issue, as you pay for a camera, and you expect it to work well. You don't need it to be of SLR camera quality, but you also don't want this horrible pink circle in the centre of every photo. I would not recommend the HTC HD2. Not only because of the camera, but because of problems with the Windows Mobile interface, which is not suited to the capacitive touch display of the HD2 (even though they say it works well, it doesn't). It is not cheap to recall all the faulty units. Almost all the HTC HD2 cameras have issue. My unit still on the ship coming to Malaysia. Got better offer but arrive late.
