Yeah… Finally, the Metal Detector for HTC HD2 released the final version 1.0.0.0. It is a great tool to detect metal around you. I used to play with it when I have nothing to do.
How does Metal Detector for HTC HD2 works?
The built-in compass uses the earth’s magnetic field to calculate the deviation from magnetic north. As with every compass, if you put a piece of metal nearby, it gets deviated. That’s what the author uses here to detect metal.
Hehe… Honestly, I still don’t the accuracy of this tool. I just know that it will beep beep when we are near to metal. And beep faster when we are even nearer. But sometimes it does not beep at all (even I am next to metal).

Adjust the sensitivity with the bottom slider.
It obviously only works for ferrous metals
