ES-Tool can test a drive solely manufactured by Samsung. And it is a DOS based utility. So you need to have bootable 1.44-MB diskette or CD-ROM. Floppy drive is long gone by now. I still have issue to create a bootable USB Pen Drive. So the only way is use CD-ROM.

I figured out a way to use ES-Tool without needing a CD-ROM or floppy.
I know this is an old post, but I’ll post it here in case someone else needs the info.
All you have to do is create a bootable flash drive using a tool like Rufus (I choose FreeDOS as the boot method). Once you have it ready, just copy the FDD version of ES-Tool onto the flash drive.
Now, once you reboot your PC with the flash drive, it’ll go into DOS (giving you the C:\ prompt). Then execute the FDD version of ES-Tool and there you go!
Remember to configure your UEFI or BIOS to boot from the flash drive. I also had to switch to IDE mode for the flash drive to boot (I’m normally on AHCI mode).
