How to wipe data & cache with ClockworkMod Recovery on HTC HD2?

One of the issues that many people face with installing a new NAND Android ROM based on ClockworkMod Recovery ~ fail to boot into Android. You will not face this issue if you have a blank SD card and flashing your first ClockworkMod Recovery Android ROM. However, for those who have ClockworkMod Recovery Android on the phone and wanted to try out other Android build. You might face this issue. Root cause ~ system and data structure are not the same between builds. So new Android ROM crashes with old data. Note – there are 2 major version of ClockworkMod Recovery ~ v1.2 (reside at SD card) and v1.3 (reside at NAND memory).

  1. Thank you for this information. What about if I want to restore my HTC HD2 to its original factory setting and remove all of the tweaks and applications that I installed(ClockworkMod Recovery, DFT MAGLDR, ultimate droid etc) What do I have to do? Thank you for your patience!

  2. Hello jaycee,

i’ve been writing to you earlier too, i’m in deep trouble.. i had been using mgldr 1.13 and hspl4 with 2.08 version and the rom that i used was WWE 3.14.

my phone used to reboot with a plain white screen on its own, so i deleted gauner’s hd-fi nand rom and install darkstone nand rom which was running pretty fast and smooth.. i moved back to gauner hd-fi, and it happened again.. same white screen.

now when i try to install ANY other rom or diferent version of HSPL it doesnt work, it either gives me an error or shows the same HSPL 2.08. i cant move back to original windows rom, third party windows rom, cant even install and load magldr.. it either stucks or gives an error, cant even move from HSPL 2.08 to different HSPL version or back to soft SPL for that matter.

what am i to do here? i gave it to a software guy in the market, he did it before but he was unable to fix it this time.

is there any way i can fix it? if yes how?

    regards.

  3. no error message.. it either gets stuck at 0% or when it goes to 1 or 2% in different windows rom version and gives me a recovery error after 5-6 minutes ( and reboots itself and goes into plain white black screen mode ). it only shows the green, blue, white screen when i press the down volume key everytime it reboots.

  4. hey jayce, i tried formatting it with sd card also, but it didnt work.. it failed at about 5% saying update terminate UPDATE FAIL.
