How to diagnostic faulty hard drive?

It is time to diagnostic hard drive if you discover these hard drive failure symptoms. This is a Windows version of the Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. It will test WD internal and external drives. In additional, it can provide you with the model and serial of WD drives attached to the system.

ES Tool (The Drive Diagnostic Utility) is made with the aim of testing a Samsung hard disk drive while it is installed inside a PC, regardless of the status of user’s operating system.

Note – There is a function on the tool that will erase all your data on hard drive like ‘writes zeros to the drive with options of full erase and quick erase’. Do be careful when using it.

If no error found with these hard drive diagnostic tool, your hard drive issue should be caused by software. Else backup all your data immediately, and prepare to send your faulty hard drive to manufacturer for replacement through RMA.

  1. I have a Samsung Internal Desktop 80GB Harddisk, it was working fine.
    about 15 Days ago i have found that what ever I am saving on any drive is not available after restart.
    PARTITIONS :

    C : 10 GB, Primary, NTFS
    D : 20 GB, Logical, NTFS
    E : 30 GB, Logical, NTFS
    F : 15.6 GB, Logical, FAT32

    I have take the back of all the drives and now when I am trying to format it using Mini Partition/EZSUS tool/Windows XP Installer/Windows 7 Installer, but all of them are not able to format it Mini/Ezsus tool says that its formated but when it refreshes , again every thing comes back.

    Could you please suggest me what I have to do to make this issue correct.
