Yes… Yes… Thanks to all the developers that still develops stuffs for HTC HD2. XDA Developer, tytung updated his GPS Libraries for HD2 Gingerbread to v1.7 ~ NMEA version. I just tested the latest NMEA version. GPS lock faster than the older RPC version. And I got more satellite view and lock in GPS Test…

Tytung’s GPS Libraries v1.7 for HD2 Gingerbread Features

  • Show the number of satellites before getting a location fix.
  • Show or hide the GPS icon in the status bar instantly when you start or stop a GPS app.
  • Support the leap seconds.
  • Modify the Accuracy to be more reasonable.
  • Add AGPS interface.
  • Add the missing functions to receive the NTP, XTRA, and SUPL settings from gps.conf.
  • Add AGPS implementation including injecting AGPS data and time into the gpsOne engine.
  • Hide Fix/Sats info when you go to basement or tunnel.
  • Show DOP/HDOP/VDOP values in GPS Status.
  • Show Altitude above Geoid and Geoid height.
  • Show correct SNR (Signal to noise ratio) value.
  • Activate the AGPS data injection.

You can give it a try on your current Android with this GPS Libraries v1.7 (NMEA version) here. Or wait for your favorite Android ROM chef to update his build…

  1. wuuhuu!!!..it works flawlessly…mine can lock satelite within 20-30 second after turning on the gps…thumbs up for u Jayce for finding this awesome tweak for HD2.

    mine using ROM HyperDroid CM7 v2.1.0 Heady Honeybadger , tytung kernel.

    I have installed the file via clockworkmod recovery and my gps won’t start since then. I am using Cyanogenmod Nightly.
