Yeah… There is a new firmware update for Samsung Galaxy Note II. You can use the easier method ~ upgrade Samsung Galaxy Note 2 firmware with OTA software update. However, you might not get OTA notification about new software update. And “no update available” prompted when you checked for update manually. No worry, there is another official method to upgrade Samsung Galaxy Note 2 firmware ~ through Samsung Kies. Basically, just launch Samsung Kies application at PC or Mac. Then connect your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to PC with USB cable. Continue firmware upgrade by follow the onscreen instructions. Still don’t understand? New Samsung Galaxy Note 2 firmware available
You will get a pop up window if a new firmware version is available when you connect Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to Samsung Kies. Just click Update to start the firmware upgrade process.
Or click Firmware upgrade if you miss the pop up window.
Read all the instructions carefully. Then check I have read all of the above information. Finally, click Start upgrade.
Downloading and preparing firmware upgrade components take few minutes only.
Firmware upgrade process is the slowest step of the whole processes. Samsung Kies will download the whole Samsung Galaxy Note 2 firmware from Samsung server. Note – Samsung Galaxy Note 2 firmware size is around 1 GB. Unlike OTA update which usually around 50 MB in size. So take a cup of coffee if you have a slow Internet connection.
