  1. Thank you for the guide.

    My situation:
I have SGN2 with Android version 4.1.1 with CWM installed, so I cant receive any updates from Samsung. Hence I downloaded official 4.1.2 for my phone manually. Before upgrade, I need to backup all my notes from my app, e.g. ColorNote, Calender and etc (photo, song, video I can back it up manually). In my case, which method should I use?

I have few questions need your advice:
    1. CWM backup file is stored in phone memory, if I upgrade firmware will it lost CWM backup file?
    2. As what you said, CWM like OS ghost, means CWM use for restore not for upgrade? If yes, then what method should I use for backup, upgrade and restore back?

    Thank you.

  2. jayce, after i restored a back up from the nandroid backup that i did, what do i basically get? will i have all the apps and data installed back in my phone?thanks

  3. I have been reading and reading for days now on rooting and modding and backing up and so far this is by far the best information I have found. Thanks a ton for making it short and sweet without the headaches. One question you may be able to help me out with, I am new to android, I was for years an iphone guy but just hated being controlled by the big guys and will not go back. Anyway I am interested in modding and have been unable to find any concrete information on howto and with what mod. I am using the note 2 from telus and I am banging my head against the wall. I am rooted have managed to back up thanks to you and now am interested in seeing what I can accomplish with the use of mods. I am not looking for free stuff just want better control of what my device does and to run smooth. Thanks in advanced Chris.

  4. I’m trying to backup to the external SD card, because the internal one is too full to hold a backup. However, CWM recovery can’t seem to mount the /external_sd path. Any ideas?
