Widgets are the ones that make Android special. But they eat battery especially those widgets that use data connection and have auto sync based on schedule. Therefore, keep those widgets that you really need only.

Poor signal decrease battery life
Force to 2G network mode (GSM only) if 3G connection signal (WCDMA) is poor at your area. Phone will use more power when signal is weak because it uses more power to increase the signal strength. So always make sure that your phone has a good signal reception.

Use Wi-Fi connection when available
Always gets connected with Wi-Fi connection when available. 3G data connection eats more battery compare to Wi-Fi connection. And turn both of them off when not needed.
