Yeah… I just upgraded my TM Net Streamyx internet package from Streamyx 512Kbps to Streamyx 1.0Mbps. I submitted the upgrade application just before Malaysia Budget 2010 that will give RM500 tax relief on broadband subscription fee. Anyway, I feel that my Internet connection speed was slow and needed to be upgraded to catch up. Therefore, I did it.
So how to test internet connection speed? There is a free tool from TM Net itself ~ TM Speedometer. With it, you can test your Internet connection speed with local server at Brickfields (Kuala Lumpur), Kelana Jaya (Petaling Jaya) and Cyberjaya. However, the test only cover connection within Malaysia only (Most of the Malaysia web servers are located there)
My website does not perform well this few days. Why? I have Nuffnang ad on the very beginning of my website layout. Nuffnang.com.my network seems very busy lately. Therefore, my website loading speed is slow because it needs to wait for Nuffnang ads timeout first before can load other part layout. I faced this problem yesterday and it is happening right now. I always get “Network Timeout” error when try to loading Nuffnang.com.my website. However, I did not face any problem with Nuffnang.com.sg or Nuffnang.com.ph.
It this DNS issue? Or TMNET Streamyx issue? Or other issue? Hmm… Do you also facing Nuffnang network slowness issue?
I do not want post this. I have been thinking of posting this but I changed my mind and give Smart Team some chances. But I am really disappointed with Smart Team hosting service. Jayce Ooi’s Paradise had been down for more than 5 times last few days. And the down time was more than 2 to 3 hours each time. They did not fulfill 99.8% server uptime and 99.9% network uptime. This is what the SLA stated. I am fine with system reboot during system maintain such as apply patches for better security or performance. But not like 3 hours.
Hey, Smart Team tech support! If you guys read this, remember this! I am an Information System Engineer in MNC. I managed more than 20 servers in my lab. None of them have more downtime than yours. Come on, you must detect the error before your customer tell you. What is 24/7 server monitoring mean? Why there is no reply when I call or email or even online chat? The server uptime never more than 2 weeks. System uptime is 2 Hours and 14 Minutes for the moment. Whenever I say I want a stable server, you ask me to change to yours priority server but all the features is the same except the price. So what is the meaning?? I wonder…
Sorry for all the rude words. I really cannot accept after more than 5 times server down in less than 2 week time frame. And forgive me also as the stock market did not perform well lately. (I will kill anybody if they make me angry. Yes, I mean it. ) Hmm… I am fine now after writing all of these down. OK…
By the way, I will keep everyone update on Smart Team server uptime statistic from time to time.
I face problem when trying to connect to server using remote desktop connection. All I got just a black screen. After few minutes, system prompt me with some connection error. Help!!!

Cannot find where is the remote desktop connection shortcut? No worries.
Just click ‘start’ -> ‘Run…’ -> type ‘mstsc‘ in and click OK-> then you have it – remote desktop connection.
