How to enable ActiveX in Internet Explorer (IE6, IE7)

Want to load ActiveX content but do not know how to do so? Fear no more… Here are some guide for you.

IE6, IE7

  • Click on ‘Tools’
  • Select ‘Internet Options…’
  • Select ‘Security’ tab.
  • Select Internet in Web content zone.
  • Then, click on ‘Custom Level…’
  • Go through all the ActiveX setting there, select ‘Prompt’ or ‘Enable’. Select ‘Enable’ only if you know what you are doing else leave it to ‘Prompt’ :P

Enjoy ActiveX content. :)

IE6

  • Click on ‘Tools’
  • Select ‘Internet Options…’
  • There are ‘Delete Cookies’, ‘Delete Files’, and ‘Clear History’. Use them to clean what you want.

IE7

  • Click on ‘Tools’
  • Select ‘Delete Browsing History…’
  • You can delete whatever you required from that page.

Firefox

  1. Click on ‘Tools’
  2. Select ‘Clear Private Data…’ or use shortcut ‘ctrl + Shift + Delete’
  3. Check on whatever you want to clean and click ‘Clean Private Data Now’

McAfee VirusScan Command Line Scanner scanpm.exe cannot work anymore starting May 2007. The scanpm.exe version that I am using is 4400 engine. Therefore, it cannot work with virus definition starting May 2007. You can find more information at McAfee website.

Updated (05-06-2007) - Received official letter from McAfee mention that scanpm.exe is not longer supported.

WordPress 2 visual editor disappear… gone…

Do you ever face that your WordPress 2 visual editor gone in front of you? It just gone without any reason. It make my life hard because I have to use the HTML / code style to write a post. I searched for solution at Google. No hope at WordPress official support. Luckily, I found one. And it fix my case.

Just login to administration page. Select Users. Then select Your Profile tab. Click on ‘Use the visual editor when writing’ under Personal Options.

This should do the trick. You can also enable advanced toolbar with extra features. If this cannot help, then you need to use another method.

  2. Download ScribeFire extension at here.
  3. Start using ScribeFire to write your post. You will like it. :)
