Canon Digital Photo Professional is software exclusively for editing and converting RAW images shot by EOS Digital cameras. I like Canon development team. They add wonderful enhancement on version 3.2 release. I like lens aberration correction function. That is the main reason I updated Digital Photo Professional.

Changes for Digital Photo Professional 3.2
1. Added support for EOS 40D and EOS-1Ds Mark III.
2. Added Lens aberration correction function (for correcting peripheral illumination, distortion, chromatic aberration, and color blur).
3. Highlight/shadow warning function has been added. Can now check for blown highlight and shadowing on the screen.
4. High speed (moiré reduction off) has been added to the High Quality display mode for RAW images.
5. Retain sort order function in the main window has been added.
6. 100% has been added to the enlargement ratio that appears on the Quick Check window. (Previously 50% only)

This firmware update (Version 1.1.0) incorporates the following fixes and improvements.

1. Adds support for the new Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) USB protocol.
2. Corrects errors in the Simplified Chinese menu screens.

Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) USB protocol allow the camera more versatility when connecting to different operating environments. It may be better for the camera to have extra modes like this one, than to not have them embedded in the Menu.

Virtual CD / DVD - ROM drive works and behaves just like a physical CD/DVD drive, however it exists only virtually. Image files can be mounted onto a virtual drive from your hard-disk or from a network drive and used in the same manner as inserting them into a normal CD/DVD drive.

There are several virtual drive out there. Personally, I prefer DAEMON tools (I use that at home) which has lot of function. However, it is not free for business / corporation use. Another one is SlySoft Virtual CloneDrive (use in office) and is completely free.

I discovered a site that contain lot of bootable CD ISO. We do not use floppy drive nowadays. Therefore, this will be easy to use when we need to boot to DOS sometime. It contains CD ISO from DOS 4.01 to DOS 6.22 and Windows 95a to Windows ME. We just need to burn it to CD after download it.

Added functions
1. Support added for Windows Vista.
2. Support was added for EOS-1D Mark III.
3. Support added for single-image display for RAW+JPEG images. (*)
The edited content is applied only to RAW images. File moving, copying, or deleting applies to both the RAW image and the JPEG image. Single image display is only used with CR2-type RAW and JPEG images that were shot simultaneously. (The images used with TIFF-type RAW and JPEG images can not be displayed as a single image).
4. Enabled thumbnail image rearranging using drag & drop.
5. Enabled a frame display in trimmed images in main window or edit image window.
6. Added multi-image synchronizing function in edit window.
7. Supported multi-page printing in detailed setting printing.
8. Enabled a Color Management settings window call function in the detailed setting printing window.
9. Enabled images trimmed in DPP to print as trimmed images when they are printed using Easy-PhotoPrint, Easy-PhotoPrint Pro.
10. The GPS data can be displayed with other shooting information when the GPS data is added to it.
