PIKOM PC Fair 2008 at PISA, Penang

PIKOM PC Fair 2008 is held at several places in Malaysia. The one that I visited is located at PISA, Penang. Wow… PIKOM PC Fair… The last time I visited PIKOM PC Fair at PISA, Penang was back in 4 or 5 years back. Why I did not visit PIKOM PC Fair lately? I was cheated by Mega Online on the last visit. The price given at PC Fair is more expensive than normal period. Besides, there was nothing special to see at PIKOM PC Fair at PISA, Penang. I long to visit PIKOM PC Fair at Kuala Lumpur. It is bigger and has a lot of stuffs to see. 
However, this visit changed my mind… How? Why? What?

SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) is a computer bus technology primarily designed for transfer of data to and from computer data storage devices such as hard drives, CD-ROM… It is a replacement for parallel SCSI. It is also backwards-compatible with SATA drives. It uses serial communication instead of the parallel method but still uses SCSI commands.

- The SAS bus is point-to-point while the SCSI bus is multidrop.
- SAS has no termination issues and does not require terminator packs like parallel SCSI.
- SAS supports a higher transfer speed (1.5, 3.0 or 6.0 Gbit/s).
- SAS can supports up to 16,384 devices.
What is RAID 6? By the way, do you know what is RAID? RAID is also known as Redundant Arrays of independent drives. It is a technology that supports the integrated use of two or more hard-drives in various configurations for the purposes of achieving greater performance, reliability through redundancy, and larger disk volume sizes through aggregation.
It is like RAID 5 but with two parity blocks instead of one
Do you know how camera lenses are made? I brought Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM and Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 USM lens lately. They are expensive. I wonder why it is so expensive. Find out your own answer here…

I had been off to China for 2 weeks last month. I went there to VnV production line and setup a new lab. That was my first time to support production line in China. Previously, all the tasks were handled by others. However, most of them were gone now. Why? My company is getting slimmer and smaller in size. Most of them changed to other group and had different job scope. Some were lay off.
