  • joemar

hmmm..2.3.6? so it only available for stock firmware? i tries to open my kies but it does not allow me to from Philippines
am still using custom rom checkrom 2.3.5
in your own opinion which do you prefer?
    pls advice. thanks

    • You need to have official stock firmware in order to get update from Samsung Kies.
Personally, I stick with custom ROM. πŸ™‚

      • joemar

then i’ll stick with custom ROM πŸ˜€
        you’re using checkrom?

        • Yup… πŸ˜‰

          • joemar

thanks again and have a nice day

  • mtxx

    What’s the change log?
This is the non wipe update right?

    • As usual, no change log is giving by Samsung.
Yes, all official firmware from Samsung Kies is non wipe version.

      • mtxx

Oh ya, forgot to ask one thing.

i am using stock firmware, but rooted.
after upgrade the new firmware via kies, will it remain rooted?

        • No, root access will be removed.

          • mtxx

not sure if its a good idea to upgrade then.
hate to go through the root process again

  • Tony

Finally arrived to Malaysia. Thank you for your information πŸ™‚ .
    I am really appreciate.

  • Leslie

    Hi Jayce
If I already install the Netherlands XWKK2 by Odin can I using the same way to install this Malaysia firmware?

    • Yes, you can use Odin to install it.

      • Leslie

thanks for fast reply… I will try to install the I9100DXKL3 (PDA) – I9100OLCKL2 (CSC) see what difference.

      • Akiyoo

I’m same to Leslie …already installed Netherlands version.
Why I can’t use Samsung Kies to install ?
Where to download the firmware in order to use Odin to install it ?

        Thank you

        • You can’t upgrade Netherlands firmware with Southeast Asia firmware.

          • akiyoo

            OK thanks…Jacye
            Questions here :
            1) If I hard reset my S2, will it be back to original version 2.3.3 or still 2.3.6 with Netherland version ?
            2) If item 1 is OK, mean I can upgrade again with Samsung Kies with Malaysia version 2.3.6 ?
            3) If item 1 is not OK, mean still 2.3.6 with Netherlands firmware. In future can I upgrade to ICS firmware thru Samsung Kies ?

            Thank you very much

            • 1. No. Still Netherland version.
              3. Yes when ICS firmware releases for Netherlands.

  • M.Jay

If i install stock DXKL3 into my phone, will it be unrooted back?so to root it back which CF Root should use?

    • Yes, it will remove root access. XW_OXA_KK5 is the nearest match.

  • SG Guy

    Hi Jayce,

Am currently on XXKI4 – and just updated the DXKL3 firmware via Odin.
Since the CSC on XXKI4 is “LCKL2” – will it have negative impact on this firmware?
I don’t want to wipe the data off my phone – but if its neccessary I’ll do just that…..
So far… things seems normal to me… however the DXKL3 firmware does have the “LCKL2” CSC….. not sure if there’ll be compatibility issues

    • I am using Europe CSC in Malaysia for quite sometime. No issue so far.

      • SG Guy

        Hi Jayce,

Thanks for the reply…. maybe I’ve mistaken.. I always have this impression that the firmware and CSC comes as a set.. ie go hand in hand.
But if you’re using the Europe CSC on an Asia firmware for a while now…. think it should be just fine..

  • yashwin

    hi Jayce ,
well ive been talking to my friend … well he said tat if we run a custom rom we r actually giving information about us to the developer of tat rom .. is tat true ?? also do samsung service centres accept phones with custom roms … well the reason im asking this is the service centre accepted my phone while it was running checkrom !!!
    cheers !!! πŸ™‚

    • Yes, might be if the developer wish to do so.

  • Clement

    Hello Jayce,

Thanks for this information. I also upgraded to XXKI4 when it came out. So am wondering other than easier with warranty issues at samsung service centre.. is there any other reason to use our own region firmware (more stable, etc?)

    • There are Southeast Asia languages like Chinese, Malay, Indo, Thai. Local CSC settings.

  • Clement

I see. So if i flash via odin to DXKL3, will it do i need to wipe cache and data (factory reset?? ) or it doesnt matter usually?

    Thanks again.

    • No need to wipe cache and data unless you face boot loop and apps force closed issues.

      • Clement

Thank you again Jayce for your fast response.

  • sanub

    hello Jayce,

i am presently running stock firmware 2.3.3. and wanted to upgrade to this 2.3.6 XWKL1…is it possible to flash this with odin insted of using kies? Also after the upgrade , to root it back which CF Root should i use?

    • Yes, you can use Odin. Use the nearest build like XW_OXA_KK5.

  • Ceresz88

Yeah, thanks for the info. I already updated mine to 2.3.6 just now after desperately checking for it everyday. I’m from Philippines btw and I was expecting that there will be a rotation animation for this one…but I’m not disappointed since it has improvements in battery life and some additional UI effects. This is a good christmas and new year gift from samsung. Cheers!

  • sanub

    Thankzzz a lot Jayce………

  • jery610

would you recommend this if im already on
    Android 2.3.6

    This package has: PDA: XWKK5| Modem/phone: XXKI3| CSC: XEUKH2??

    please advise. Thanks!

    • Depend on you. Do you need to use Southeast Asia languages?

      • jery610

no.. is having southeast asian languages the only difference between the two? thanks

        • No idea but that is the main one. Might have some other differences.

  • SG Guy

    Hi all,

    Some observation on DXKL3

Was from XXKI4 and then upgraded to DXKL3.
I would say, battery life took a slight hit – other than that I don’t see any visible change.
I’m not saying that battery is bad – especially if you’re coming from 2.3.3 – you’ll immediately notice the improved battery performance.

I don’t need the Asia language – therefore went back to XXK14….. am waiting for ICS to be release.

    • Clement

      Hey SG Guy,

I reverted back to DXKL3 from XXKI4 just this morning and initial looks of it, it looks true.. battery seems to drain slightly faster (3 – 4 %) more than XXKI4 and battery seems ‘hotter’ during normal use – i am using a battery widget as a gauge (29 degrees when screen is on for the first time, and 32 vs 36 (XXKI4 vs DXKL3).

Well its just the first day for me and had to do some reconfiguration of settings since i did a factory reset as well to solve other issues so maybe that contributed to the battery drain.. Will see how this goes and make another comparison soon.

      • SG Guy

Hi Clement, thanks for the feedback. please keep me posted on your observation.

The battery drain may be temporary- may want to go back to DXKL3

        • Clement

          Hi SG Guy.

Hmm just a quick Day one observation post for DXKL3

          2015 charged to full 100%
2359 light surfing, playing a quick 20 min game dropped to 91%

          Next day
0700 checked and it had dropped to 85% (usually in the night it usually drops only 2 %)
1200 light surfing, IM , checking and replying emails 67%
1700 light surfing, IM , checking and replying emails 52%
          2000 light surfing, IM , 42%
          2230 25%

Since it is not possible to do exactly the same thing everyday.. Will test out for another week and see how it goes. Overall i think battery life is definitely better than 2.3.4/2.3.5. However comparing to XXKI4 it seems to drain slightly faster, typically it should be 10-15% more than what it should be. But perhaps on those days i was doing less stuff.

Hope this gives you and others a rough guide πŸ™‚

          • Clement

            Hello SG Guy,

After close to a week of using DXKL3, i feel is that the battery life is comparable with XXKI4, overall i feel it drains slightly faster (typically 4 – 6 % more depending on repeated usage) but to me i feel it is acceptable. πŸ™‚

    Dear Jayce,
If I upgrade to DXKI2, will I lose USB host support? If yes, which version of 2.3.6 should I flash to maintain USB host support? I am currently using GT-I9100 with DXKH1.

  • sanub

    Hello Jayce,
Will the usb OTG support which is present in 2.3.3 stock firmwire, be present in this upgrade to 2.3.6 XWKL1 ?

    • I did not test XWKL1 firmware. But it is still working on XWKK5 Android 2.3.6 firmware which I am using now.

  • kamal

hi jayce………….I have official bvkg3 on my sgs2 , 2.3.5 from orange Uk and it’s official now…………… can I update it to 2.3.6 because kies does not show any update available as yet ?

  • kamal

    sorry …………it’s baseband version BVKJ4………..2.3.5

    • You need to wait until there is official Android 2.3.6 for your current firmware. Samsung Kies will prompt you then.

  • Rony

Hi Jayce, I own a galaxy S2 and from India with an android version of 2.3.4,

    Baseband version: I9100XXKG6

When i connect through KIES it tells me that “Your device does not support Software Upgrading through Kies”. However i understand there is a official version release (2.3.6)

How can i upgrade the official firmware in my phone??

    • Install official India firmware back.

  • Waseem Khan

    Hi Jayce,

I am using Galaxy S2 stock in India. 4 days ago it could not detect the service provider. I put in the flight mode. After that its stuck in flight mode. Have tried switching off. Removed the battery for few hours. Have even tried doing a factory reset. No luck.
Surprisingly it is not showing even IMEI details. Please help

      • Waseem

        Thanks for the response..

No, I did not. I have taken a copy of all the folders shown when connected to PC before factory reset.

Will one of those have the EFS file?

        Any other option?

        • The folder is named EFS. And there is IMEI folder inside EFS folder.

          • Waseem Khan

Not able to get the EFS file.

Will a factory reset followed by upgrade to latest firmware help?

            • I don’t think so.

              • Waseem

                Hi Jayce,

Any other suggestion? the phone is as good as a media player now.

                • Send back to Samsung for service.

  • Sam

I dont have broadband in home, hence i wanna upgrade firmware in Office laptop in office. But seems somewhere its port or server is blocked. Even kies doesn’t show up latest version update.

Any knowledge, what link or port kies uses to connect to samsung server?? Any way to sort it out??

Please do share…that will be helpful, i am eager to upgrade my firmware in s2.

    • Sorry, I have no technical detail of Samsung Kies. You need to get that from Samsung Support.

    • khan

Try to upgrade ur kies if it doesn’t just download it from Samsung support and reinstall this will upgrade ur kies. unless u
Update it u will not get the firmware update. Try it.

  • aizen

currently my SGS 2 have audio problem. when im using the handsfree, the voice i heard from the earpiece are too low. very hard to hear when calling someone eventhough im using original handsfree provided in the box. but i can hear loudly when playing music.

also, when i make normal call (wihout hndsfree), my friends complaining my voice are too low and i need to repeat and talk loudly to make them hear me.

did android already have firmware update that can solve this problem?

hope you can show me how to solve this problem.

    • Look like hardware issue to me. Please consult Samsung Support on your issue.

      • aizen

        tq jaycee.

  • Jay R.

Hey guys! Just wondering…I’m from the Philippines and I just connected my S2 to Kies for the first time to hopefully update my firmware to 2.3.6., because I heard that the update is already available here. How come Kies tells me that I have the current version? XXKI1 or XWKI4 and I’m on 2.3.4. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! πŸ™‚

  • alvin

I tried to upgrade my Samsung S2 GT9100 to android 2.3.6 but when I open my Kies it say up-to-date which is 2.3.4. How can I upgrade to the latest version?

    • Look like your region does not have Android 2.3.6 firmware yet. You can install other region firmware with Odin manually if you want.

  • Rony

    Hi Jayce,

I have a SG S2 with firmware version of 2.3.4, and would like to update it with the latest firmware version of 2.3.6

If i update the official firmware using Odin will Kies detect any firware upgrades in future.

    Thanks in advance

    • Yes Rony.

      • Rony

Jayce, so do I have to roll back to the 2.3.3 version for Kies to detect and update the firmware to 2.3.6.

can I have it manually update using Odin to get the official firmware 2.3.6

        what would u recommend??

  • Praveen

Hai jayce, Hi upgraded to 2.3.6, but I am not like the over all UI, the fonts are little bit blurred. I reverted to 2.3.5 XXKI3, which is great I think. I suggest all users to install 2.3.5 XXKI3. Can you tell me when will be the android 4.0 for the galaxy s2 launch?

    • Q1 2012.

    • khan

The Samsung ppll told me it will be out at the end of Feb 2012. In india

  • Milind

    Hi Jayce,

I upgraded my s2 firmware to 2.3.6 through my mobile itself.
After that whenever i connect to my PC , the usb is not getting detected.
I tried installin again both kies as well as samsung latest usb drivers.
Can you help me on this.

    • Milind

hi just found this on Google an am sharing this.
This helped me to connect to my PC

      1. Unplug the USB cable
      2. On the cell phone, dial the following number: *#7284# Once the last # is hit, the PhoneUtil application is launched.ο»Ώ Choose USB -> Modem and then USB -> PDA mode. The good mode should be PDA. Even if the mode is PDA, switch to Modem and then back to PDA.
      3. Plug the USB cable.

please, i wanted to gingerbread 2.3.6 for galaxy s2 (GT-I9100G). Now, my phone can’t use. Display show is phone logo and computer logo. I wanted to link.

  • Praveen

XXKP8 released?, Sammobile reviewd it, and option for download is given. Do you noticed? Is it official?

    • Yes, just another leaked version.

  • Terence

Hi Jayce, i tried to update my GT-9100G with the latest firmware 2.3.6 (as the kies detected), but each time will ended with error. So i decided to download the firmware from sammobile and flash manually. Myquestion is: after i downloaded and decompressed the file, only 1 .md5.tar file, so mind teach me how to flash using odin? Thank you

  • Terence

now i’m wondering how to root my SGS2 (kerner version se.infra@SEI-43 #2)….

  • Terence

Thanks, I’ll post my question there

  • khan

Got my sgs2 firmware upgrade through kies took me 2 hours due to poor internet speed. So wats new in 2.3.6 actually it solved one of the most discussed problems of sgs2 that is over heating and battery drain.
didn’t find any mirror crackling updates just a few minor tweaks
    1. Extra poversaving Option
    2. Home screen can run on continuous loop
    3. Wifi option improved
    4. Minor changes to notification bar
    5. Swype key pads upgraded
    6. New options added in accessibility
    7. ofcourse how can one forget the blue line which appears at the end of scroll

    • Nitehawk

      Does USB OTG still work?

      • khan

YES IT IS STILL WORKING. no problems at all.
one more new thing when we connect it to kies on pc we can use the phone explore it or even use gallery since befor we had to keep the phone away while using kies with pc. no moreannoying screen saying do not exit this screen. so all in all except making call while connected to kies we can do pretty much everything

  • khan

    Hey jaycee
Is it possible to install HTC ui on Samsung Android phone is it possible if we root the device

    • HTC UI alike only with the help of widgets, launcher. No actual HTC Sense.

  • Luciusredd

    Hi Jayce,
See you really the man here. thanks for having sucha a cool forum. i have a coupla questions here so please bear with me,
    1. i have only been updating my phone via kies havent done any rooting stuff (to be honest dont really understand it all) if i use odin will if change my root thingy?
    2. i noticed to new leaked ICS does kies have it yet or do i have to use odin and more importantly is it worth installing right now? thanks dude.

    • 1. Odin does not change your root access unless you install kernel that provide root access.
      2. No ICS from Kies yet. You can install leaked beta version with Odin. But not for daily use as not everything is working now.

  • neil

my Samsung galaxy s2 GT-I9100 has 2.3.5 version and i would like to update firmware to 2.3.6 official firmware using Kies but it keeps telling that i have the latest firmware installed. i dialled *#1234# . The result:

    PDA:I9100 JPKJ2

please let me know whether i can update my firmware.. Thank you

    • Your region firmware is still on Android 2.3.5 then. Wait for it.

  • Andrew83

    Dear Jayce,

i have done the upgrading and i try to detect by kies but was given error msg of “Your device could not support software update from KIES”. why was it so? could KIES in future able to detect when they release new software? I was waiting for ICS under KIES but was worry tat it might not be able to detect in future..

    Pls advise

    PS: Singapore user.

    • Hi Andrew83, please upgrade Samsung Kies to the latest version.

      • andrew83

the upgrading of kies suppose to be auto detect and recently i had done once. now cant detect any upgrading of KIE

        • andrew83

Forgot to mention that i had download the dxkl3 version and flash wif the kernel.

          • What is your current firmware and kernel now?

            • Andrew83

              Hi Jayce

              Build Number: GingerBread.DXKL3
              Kernel Ver:
              BaseBand Ver: I9100DXKL1

              • Your kernel is DXKL3, right? If yes, all of them look normal to me.

  • Andrew83

    Dear Jayce

Below are the information shown in KIES. Sorry for the trouble.

    I9100DXKL3 / I9100OLCKL2 / I9100DXKL3 (XEU)

    • OLCKL2 does not match with DXKL3 firmware. So Samsung Kies does not support it. Change back to original kernel if you want to use Samsung Kies.

      • andrew83

Hi jayce. so where can i download the original kernel? which version is the one i shld download???

          • andrew83

Hi jayce, thanks for the advice. will try tonight as i remember i did install kernel after installing whole thing. will update u again. but what if it doesnt change to the new kernel??

            • Change to the new kernel? What do you mean?

              • Andrew83

                Hi Jayce,

I try to go the web site and check for DXKL3 kernel and try to download but the file was “Kernel_I9100DXKL3.7z” and i couldn’t zip it out. Pls advise.

                • Andrew83

                  Pls ignore previous msg.. Thanks

                  • Andrew83

                    Dear Jayce,

Done what have you told and is a success. Thanks for the detailed information.. Kudos to you.. Last Qns, This is wat i got in my KIES

                    Is it correct?

                    • Andrew83

Mine phone is NOT rooted btw..

    • Hi Lawrence, factory reset it.

  • Praveen

what about checkrom revolution HD 4.0? did you try that? waiting for your opinion. Can Checkroms install via odin? or via clockwork mode? Is there any root required for this rom? Please answer these questions.

    • Yes, using it now. Install with CWM will do.

      • praveen

        thank you, is there any
ROOT required for Chechrom HD 4?

        • The ROM is pre-rooted.

          • praveen

Rom for best camera (without pinkspot)?

            • All the ROM that I tried still have camera pink spot issue. πŸ™

  • praveen

  • praveen

I dont know. how to set up the cwm?

  • John Philipson

Hi, I’ve used ODIN to sucessfully put on various Kernels on the Samsung GT-I9100, root phone etc.. but when I came to downgrade my 02 XWKJ1 ROM to generic XWKE1 or XWKE2 ROMS, the firmware is applied but when the phone reboots, I’m prompted for a passowrd (have tried intratech@XDA just in case but no joy)

    • Is that your SIM card lock? Firmware does not have password on startup usually by default.

  • John Philipson

Hi Jayce, no (there’s no SIM in the phone at the moment), this is a password to load Android (comes up just after th einitial Samsung splash screen)

  • John Philipson

    Hi Jayce,

I found the answer on xda forums – it’s to do with security applications on the phone (

Btw the password thing- it happens when you had previously installed security apps. Like any antivirus or any password protection app. Like -‘ app. Protector pro.’ And these passwords are not actually harmful as they are just for security measures and when you input incorrect password 4-5 times they will say that going through will format your SD card but they actually don’t do anything when you go through.

  • Zac

    hey Jayce,

I’ve just updated my GS2 to DXKL3 and now I can’t send SMS and go on the internet through the browser. Receiving SMS and using the internet via application like facebook, whatsapp works just fine. Have no idea what went wrong.

    Please help!! Thanks!

    • Sorry Zac, no idea what is going wrong here too. You can try to factory reset it if you want.

      • Zac

will you recommend me to switch it back to the previous firmware using odin? or is there another way to downgrade? sorry, I’m really new in this android thing.

        • You can downgrade with Odin if factory reset does not solve it.

  • Hello Jayce,

How do I install the new firmware update? From Kies on my pc or I can just search for the update on my phone by using the Software update option in the setting? Also I would like to ask if charging from my Mac/PC better than charging from the AC supply or vice versa. I’ve been using my Mac/PC to charge my phone and I’ve had the poor battery issue since. What do you suggest? Thanks.

  • Zann

i did try to upgrade with the samsung Kies, and factory reset it. before i upgrade it. it seems still have the same prob.
when ever i left my phone and sleep but when i wake up the screen just freeze or turn off.

    • Consult Samsung Support at Samsung Service Center in this case. If can, ask for I9100 model as replacement. πŸ˜‰

  • @ku123: I did not try to use stock kernel to remove yellow triangle on custom ROM. Use USB jig usually.

As for theme, did you apply install after downloaded?

I have Samsung Galaxy S2 with android version as 2.3.6 with baseband version as I9100GDDKI1 which I bought on 25th Dec’11 in India. I selected Software update and found a firmware update approx 49.86 MB, but it doesn’t mention the firmware version. Please let me know if its good to go ahead and download that firmware update or visit Samsung Service Center for upgrade.

    • Hi Ashwani, I don’t have I9100G model. No idea about it.

  • Tay

    Hi Jayce,
I wanna ask that I plug-in my phone to the computer using USB cable to check whether there is a update for my GT-I9100 or not because my phone’s Android Version is 2.3.3
Im trying to update to ICS…
but when i opened samsung kies on computer it says that β€œYour device does not support software upgrade via Kies”
So what im gonna do? i want ics so badly D:
    and i didn’t rooted my phone…

    About phone :
    -Android Version : 2.3.3
    -Baseband Version : I9100XXKE4
    -Kernel Version : #22
    -Build Number : GINGERBREAD.ZSKF4
-Current Firmware Version : I9100ZSKF4/I9100OZSKF4/I9100XXKE4/I9100ZSKF4 (KOR)

    • Your firmware is Hong Kong region. CSC does not match. Need to change to Hong Kong CSC.

      • tay

if change the csc will cause any disadvantages?

        • It will wipe your phone. All data will be gone.

          • tay

all memory in phone will gone?
            hmm…thats all?
after change the csc… then ics available on my phone?
btw im at malaysia…change to hong kong csc?

            • Yes.
When you select Hong Kong CSC, you should be able to get ICS upgrade from Samsung Kies.
Did you buy from Samsung Malaysia (SME)? Or AP set?

              • tay

I dont know that much D:
cause my dad bought it for me…sorry πŸ™
so in order to get ics…all i have to do is change the csc?

  • @tay: No, you don’t need root access to install firmware with Odin.

    • tay

so once i download the europe firmware…
reboot my phone and all data will gone….
then plug in to computer and update to ics via kies?
if i download the europe firmware, doesnt need to change the csc anymore?

      • No, official firmware is non wipe version.
This is ICS firmware already. No need to update with Kies again.
Nope as it will install Europe CSC for you.

        • tay

          So i downloaded europe firmware,
          the data wont gone?
and when i power on the screen and ics available on my phone…

          • Yes, if nothing went wrong.

            • tay

so the europe firmware is official one?
and it wont bring any disadvantages to my phone?
if theres a update in future,
can i just update it without download any firmware?

              • Yes.
                ICS still have some bugs.

            • tay

              what the hk sales code?
theres only TWM, TGY, KOR, CWT and BRI only

              • Should be TGY.

                • tay

                  Ok thanks πŸ˜€
this world is wonderful with professional like you πŸ˜€

                • Tay

                  hey jayce…
i change to sales code to TGY…
                  and i update via kies…
but my android version just 2.3.5
                  not 4.0.3 πŸ™
                  what to do?

                  • Look like ICS firmware is not available in Hong Kong officially yet.

                • tay

must download the europe version for the ics?

  • @Tay:

Big problem == no. But ICS is still not 100% perfect. Still have issues / bugs.

    • tay

      What problems??

      • Example, can’t set wallpaper with Gallery, certain apps are not working in ICS…

        • tay

          Like what apps? @@
          and got other problems?

          • Try it out yourself to find out. You might not use the apps that I am using. πŸ™‚

            • tay

              as u said…
to download the 7zip file isnt it?
i dunno where is it and what to download πŸ™

              • Take your time to study them.

                • tay

                  read it all?
                  and do what it says?

                  • Study and understand them. Do only what you feel is right. Don’t follow blindly.

    Hi Jayce,

my unit is samsung galaxy s2. Can i change from gingerbread to ice cream? Will it void my warranty? I’m from Philippines.

    Thanks in advance.

    • Hi jeff, yes you can. There should be official ICS firmware for Philippines now. Install official firmware with Samsung Kies won’t void warranty.

  • Logu

    Hi Jayce,

my S2 battery always shows 100% and when I reboot it shows an error msg with the battery and a attention icon with the temperature bar type (not sure what it is). I am able to switch it on again only if I connect to the usb or charger. How can I get this fixed.

    Thanks in advance

    • Hi Logu, I never face this issue before, no idea. But suspect your battery has issue. Please consult Samsung Support for further help.

      • logu

I got it fixed, the problem was with the charging socket in the phone, I took it to the service centre and they fixed it in 15 mins

Have another question when will India get ICS

        • India got ICS firmware for SGS2 already.

  • knight

    how can i find out?

and if i downgrade to original firmware ,, can i use kies to update firmware in the future

    thank u

    • Yes.
      Ask your seller.

      • knight

thank u for the fast reply

do i have to downgrade to the original firmware to update using kies?
or is there certain firmwares that match my region or something like that?

        PDA : I9100 XXLPQ
        PHONE : I9100 XXLPQ
        CSC : I9100 OXXLPD

        MODEL NUMBER GT-I9100
        ANDROID VERSION 4.0.3
        KERNAL VERSION 3.0.15-I9100XXLPQ-CL223505

please tell me if there is any certain firmware that if i downgrade to it
i would be able to update using kies in the future

        • Any official firmware will do. And make sure that you correct CSC too.

          • knight

            thank u very much

i live in libya ( north africa )
can u give me a link for an official firmware for my region
and witch csc should i choose with it

          • Al-Amin Yusuph

I am also facing the same problems. I also have the same firmware. If I change to the correct CSC, will I be able to update through Kies again? What is the correct CSC for XXLPQ? Also to help others facing similar problems, why is XXLPQ not updating through Kies?

            • Yes. Should be XEO. XXLPQ is official firmware for Poland. It may have other CSC but is not supported officially by Samsung Kies. So can’t get update from it.

              • Al-Amin Yusuph

Thanks for the response. I will try to change the CSC to XEO to match with the polish update and see if I will be able to update through KIES again. BTW the Polish version is a battery hog.

  • Bryan

Hi Mr Jayce, I wanted to downgrade from ICS to this firmware cause I didn’t really liked it. So I wiped data and cache and I installed via odin but at the first try, it says, “Fail!” So I tried flashing it again and now it’s stuck at the setupconnection. May I know what’s the problem? TKs!:)

    • Hi Bryan, I am also not so sure. By right, downgrade won’t bring any issue. I tried it myself too. No issue at all.

  • sham

jayce : what problem when this appear ” insert sim card to access network services”… just have this this morning…
