Glad that Google comes out a universal way to track Android devices no matter Nexus series like Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (2013) or Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One. Does it work on all the Android devices? Almost… Android Device Manager failed to detect my Galaxy S3 and Nexus 4 which are running on custom ROM. But working properly on Galaxy S4 with stock firmware. I still need to discover why.
Play lot of 3D games with your Samsung Galaxy S4? Undervolt Galaxy S4 GPU will help to improve battery life a bit. And make it cooler too (not much of course). GT-I9500 PowerVR SGX544MP3 GPU is powerful enough for most of the casual 3D Android games in the Play Store. GPU will auto scales to higher clock speed when more 3D processing power is needed. You can underclock GPU to save battery but that will decrease 3D performance as well. Impact gaming experience is not what we want here. So undervolting is another solution.
Finally, my Samsung Galaxy S3 was upgraded to latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean XXUFME7 Firmware. Of course, I am using custom ROM like Android Revolution HD 32.0. Not going back to stock firmware anymore after you tasted the custom ROM advantages, speed improvement, extra features… As expected, there are several Galaxy S4 goodies in XXUFME7 firmware like multiple widgets, two unlock effects (ripple and light), new screen modes ~ Adapt Display and Professional Photo.
