Playing DEAD TRIGGER with Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 on Google Nexus 7

Yes, playing my favourite first person shooter ~ DEAD TRIGGER with Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 on Google Nexus 7 is great. Play it on Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 10″ Full HD screen should be even better (too bad I don’t own one). Anyway, game controller like Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 is a must have gear for Android gamers who have tablet. Because playing with game controller is much better than on-screen touch button. And the good news, more and more Android games started to support game controller natively…

How to use Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 on Nexus 7?
Just plug in Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710 with USB OTG cable. If needed, go to games setup / controls. Select customize gamepad. Assign the action to the buttons. Click Save and exit. That’s all.

Or try out the latest gamepad like GameSir G4s that supports both Android and Windows. It can be connected through Bluetooth 4.0, 2.4GHz wireless and wired. Read GameSir G4s Review to know more.

  1. I’m trying to do the same as you, and was hoping perhaps you could shed some light on the issue i’ve been having…

Did you have to do any kind of customization regarding the right stick when using this controller? I have the same setup as you (Nexus 7, Logitech F710 via USB OTG), and when trying to play Dead Trigger, the right stick is messed up (left/right controls up/down, and up/down do nothing). I see similar issues when playing Riptide GP (although that game lets you configure the sticks themselves, but it looks like Dead Trigger only lets you configure action buttons).

From testing i did via “joystick tests” app, the right stick is reporting as “RX” and “RY” axis, but the games appear to expect it to use Z and RZ, apparently…

Lastly (perhaps importantly??), what setting do you have your F710 in (Xinput or direct input, i.e. “X” or “D” on the little toggle switch on the back of the gamepad).

    Thanks!
    Jeremy

  2. Hi Jayce,
I would try to use a F710 on my Nexus 7, but I don’t understand why you need to use a OTG cable, the F710 is a wireless gamepad. Could you explain this part ?
    Regards,
    Gerard

  3. Ok, my mistake, thanks for your answers. Do you know if there are some bluetooth controler which work with the nexus 7 ?

  4. Hi, I have a problem with my gaming controller for you and hope that you may be able to help me out.

I am using a F170 logitech controller on the ASUS Transformer 700.

I am trying to use it in Shadowgun. I configured the controller in the system settings. The problem is that the character will not stand still. If I am not touching the controller at all, my character on the screen spins around to the left. How do I fix this? Do I need to download an app?

The other problem I am having with the controller is that I just downloaded SR THD and it will not let me map the controller at all.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

  5. Hello,

i have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus (With Android 4.3), can it be connected to the Logitech F710?

I guess my mobile does not support USB OTG, but i should through Bluetooth, or USB cable…

I Just bought the F710 game controller, considering that it should work!!!!

  6. Thanks Jayce for the quick reply,

    i checked it on gsmarena:

is it simply by buying a USB OTG CABLE and just connect it, that way it should work?

    Thanks in advance…

  7. Hello I’m planning to buy a Google Nexus 7 and I also have a gamepad but not a logictech wireless gamepad. It’s just a cheap wireless gamepad. Can I still use my gamepad on this tablet?

  8. Does this work with Dead Trigger 2? I tried using Xbox 360 wired controller with OTG but it’s not detected. Works OK on another game though. Does it go Moga exclusive or something?
