How to load Samsung Galaxy S3 Recovery Mode?

  1. Turn off Samsung Galaxy S3.
  2. Press and hold down Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time.
  3. Release all buttons when you see SGS3 Logo.
  4. Android system recovery will be loaded then.

It is always recommended to perform wipe data / factory reset and wipe cache partition before install new Android ROM. So recovery mode will be useful then.

Hi there! I tried upgrading my S3 firmware to 4.3 (think that’s the right version) but at a point it took too long as it stalled for more than half an hour. So, I just switched it off and went home. Afterwards I tried turning on my phone again but failed.

Basically, i can’t get it loaded and turned on to use all the usual functions. Tried using Kies at home (slow broadband and using Kies) but failed. So, i searced Google and found this webpage and tried your recommendation i.e. How to load Samsung Recovery mode. I wiped out data and cache partition, like you said, and reboot.

However, after I clicked on apply it took me to another page asking me to choose a package to install: /cache. with options of ../ ; lost + found/ ; recovery/ . I tried all options but still failed to load. Please advice. Thanking you in advance..

hello! please help! this are the options i see at my S3 android system recovery
    reboot system now
    apply update from ADB
    Apply update from external storage
    wipe data/ factory reset
    wipe cache partition
    apply update from cache

And up under the fallen android figure, it reads in yellow as follows:

    # Manual Mode #
    — Applying Multi- CSC…
    Applied the CSC-code : ATT
    Successfully Applied multi-CSC.

i tried to choose reboot system now but it is stuck on the SAMSUNG icon then i will try to press the power+vol up+main key and the options are there again.

what will i do? what will i choose? thanks!!

Hi gigi, what had you done until you face this issue? You can try factory reset if you want.

  • gigi fleur

when i turn on the wi-fi there was a message if i would like to install new updates on samsung.. i pressed yes then after updating a message appeared that they would like to reboot the phone. i chose yes. then after the reboot it was stuck in the SAMSUNG logo it won’t continue to start. i removed the battery, put it back, turn it on same thing happens.
wheni did the power+vol up+main key, i tried the reboo system now, same thing happened, i also tried the factory reset too..still same thing. please help. thanks for the reply.
