Swype ~ a faster and easier way to input text on Windows Mobile

Swype is one of the sliding inputs for Windows Mobile. There are SlideIT and ShapeWriter too.

[pull_quote_center]With one continuous finger or stylus motion across the screen keyboard, the patented technology enables users to input words faster and easier than other data input methods—at over 50 words per minute.[/pull_quote_center]

What is Swype anyway? Check out below video to find out. It is a really great way to input.

Swype is a built in input on Samsung Omnia II. And it works perfectly on HTC HD2 too. I believe Swype should work on any Windows Mobile devices regardless screen sizes like WQVGA, WVGA, VGA and QVGA. XDA member, Baly23 came out HTC-like skin for Swype keyboard. Therefore, you can enjoy Swype functionality and keep the existing keyboard look.

  1. Jayce, have you tried this on your HD2 yet? I’ve been thinking about installing it on mine, but I don’t know how well it will work or if there is a long learning curve, considering I’m from Sweden I don’t know if there is a “swedish” predictive for that software.

  2. Tried to do it from the settings….allow to change to swype from the settings–input area. But once u try to create sms…is not there to use. then when select from the drop down triangle…i get the same error message again.

  3. I installed it and it works great. But my gmail account disappeared and I had to recreate it, which is nothing much for such great software for HTC HD2.
It is in my messaging and emails as default keyboard now. What is great, I can type if I want to as well.

  4. I was so hyped about it, but 6 months later i use standard keyboard. The whole set works better. It may be a customization thing.
