Hehe… Everyone should know what is spam email. And should know how to detect spam email, right? Spam email is the unwanted e-mail messages, frequently with commercial content, in large quantities to an indiscriminate set of recipients. I got several spam emails that Google Gmail failed to catch lately. Below is one of them.

Do you know that the limit of your liability for a lost or stolen credit card is RM250.00 only? I do not know until my friend forward an email about this. It is an article taken from Consumers Association of Penang. Why do I suddenly so take care about credit card? My fellow blogger friend TZ’s credit card number was being used by someone to purchase computer from Dell online. And the credit card bank is asking him to pay the amount ~ RM2,149. It is not a small amount.

This protection is given under Clause 13.2 of Bank Negara’s Credit Card Guideline (the Guideline)

The cardholder’s maximum liability for unauthorised transactions as a consequence of a lost or stolen credit card shall be confined to a limit specified by the issuer of credit cards, which shall not exceed RM250 provided the cardholder has not acted fraudulently or has not failed to inform the issuer of credit cards as soon as reasonably practicable after having found that his credit card is lost or stolen.

I have several credit cards. However, not all of them use online protection like Verify by VISA, or MasterCard SecureCode. Therefore, I only use those credit cards that have this online protection. For example, one of my credit card banks, HSBC will call me whenever I do an online transaction on website that does not support Verify by VISA especially the online transaction amount passes certain limit. I trust this kind of bank. However, some banks like Citibank do not have this kind of service. Therefore, we need to be careful on selecting credit card bank.

Yeah… It is Google AdSense pay time. I am excited to get my first Google AdSense monthly cash out. I made more than 100 USD with Google AdSense last month. Therefore, I am entitled to get Western Union payment now. There are several banks that you can withdraw Western Union payment in Malaysia. You can get it from CIMB, RHB, BSN or Bank Rakyat. And Malaysia Post Office too. You can find out all the agents list at Western Union website. However, not all the information is correct. For example, post office in Sungai Petani does not have this service. I went there, and they asked me to go to CIMB.

As usual, I went to CIMB to have my Western Union payment. However, CIMB’s Western Union service was down again. Yes, it was down last month when I wanted to get my previous Google AdSense payment. HeHe… I am getting monthly Google AdSense payment now. (which mean I earn >100 USD monthly)

CIMB is not available. Therefore, I went to BSN. Guess what, the staff don’t want serve me. She said that they will close from 1300 to 1430 for praying at surau. It was 1252 that time. And she asked me to come back after 1430. It was not even 1300 yet. This is the first time that I hear that bank closed for praying. Come on, BSN website does not mention about this at all. What kind of bank is this? I was VERY ANGRY and left. And I told myself not to enter BSN again. I would not enter a bank that provides bad services.

HeHe… In the middle of writing this… I searched again Western Union website for agents. Yeah!!! I discovered that my no 1 top bank – Public Bank has Western Union service already. In no time, I called Public Bank Kulim to confirm this. YES. Public Bank does provide Western Union service. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

I am not going out to take my Google AdSense payment now. Will get it next week. And try out Public Bank Western Union service then.
