Continued from Jayce and Ellen at Malaqa House Museum

Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum, Malacca is another place that we did not manage to take any photo. Why? Because they don’t allow. Simple as that. :P By the way, Baba and Nyonya are also known as the Straits Chinese or Peranakan. This Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum offers guided tours and you need to pay for it of course. The admission fee is RM8 for adults and RM4 for children. They will guide you all the way, explaining the wonderful unique culture of Baba and Nyonya. Enjoy the historical artifacts, and the Chinese tradition of female foot-binding…

Malaqa House Museum, Malacca is one of my favourite shops in Melaka. This Malaqa House Museum is a well-kept 120 year old heritage building that sells art, antique furniture, souvenir items, paintings, garden decorations and design items. It is located at Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock. And this house won a heritage award from Badan Warisan Malaysia in 2000.

Heeren Street (Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock), Malacca is another street near by Jonker Street (Jalan Hang Jebat), Malacca. Heeren Street used to be called the Millionaires’ Row of Malacca. Wealthy Peranakan and Chinese merchants used to live on this street with their lavish mansions and longish houses. Some of these magnificent houses have been converted into boutique hotels such as Hotel Puri and Baba House into museum.
