CyanogenMod 7 is one of the best Android ROM for HTC HD2. And we have CyanogenMod 9 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for HTC HD2 now too. The ROM is based on ICS AOSP via CyanogenMod sources. However, it is still an alpha release so stuffs might not work properly. Example, USB mass storage and camera are not working yet on Alpha3 – 16/12/2011 release. But rest assures that developers will improve CM9 ICS ROM for HTC HD2 performance and fix all the bugs in future releases.

150MB, 250MB and 400MB ClockworkMod Recovery partition layout sizes are enough for HTC HD2 CyanogenMod, AOSP, MIUI and standard Sense ROM. However, it maybe not be suitable for disk space hungry Android 4.0 ROM for HTC HD2. So creating a custom ClockworkMod Recovery partition layout size to match the exact size that require by Android 4.0 ROM will provide some extra user disk space.
flash.cfg file in ClockworkMod Recovery partition layout is the one that control the sizes that install. You will see these values in 250MB partition layout. Normally, you need to change 3 values which are boot, system and cache. And ROM chef will provides the ROM partition layout size like 7/200/10 (boot/system/cache) or 220/7 (system/cache).

Google denied Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade on old Nexus One officially. But that does not stop developers from create Android 4.0 ICS ROM for Nexus One. And ported to HTC HD2. Since the porting is just started few days after Google released Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich source code to Android Open Source Project (AOSP), it is consider beta version to me as not all the functions are working well and smoothly. But it sure looks good for early build and no soft buttons like Galaxy Nexus. So you have extra space on screen and use hardware buttons instead. And I am looking forward for the main stuff that I want in Android 4.0 to be working ~ 2D hardware acceleration with GPU.
