Mozilla Firefox was my favourite browser for years. Love to use it compare to feature-less Microsoft Internet Explorer. However, it was replaced by faster Google Chrome lately. And now Mozilla is going to fight back with Firefox OS. Firefox OS is an open platform that fosters greater participation in the value chain. Built entirely using HTML5 and other open Web standards and free from the rules and restrictions of existing proprietary platforms. Want to try it? Android is the most active OS on HTC HD2 right now. Yes, developers are still cooking ROM for 4 years old HTC HD2. So all the HTC HD2 users can enjoy the latest and greatest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on HTC HD2. NexusHD2 is one of my favourite ROM on HTC HD2 which cooked by XDA Developer, tytung. NexusHD2 JellyBean CM10.1 ROM is the latest one. It is based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (JDQ39) ~ CyanogenMod 10.1 and using htcleo-2.6.32 kernel. It includes CM10.1 features like Enhanced Power Menu with Reboot and Screenshot options, Power Notification Widget, Trebuchet Launcher, T9 Dialer, Keep app back button in Developer options and Theme. All Google Apps are included like Google Now. Rooted, Superuser, su and busybox are added too. It also supports hardware acceleration like hardware video decoding (720p video playback). NexusHD2 JellyBean CM10.1 ROM for HTC HD2
Windows Phone is not my cup of tea. Well, it still can’t impress me. Still lack of apps and games when compare to iOS and Android. Maybe I will back to Windows when Microsoft combines both Windows for desktop and phone into one OS. Until then, Android is still my top choice. But this may not apply to some of you, just me. So there are Windows Phone 7.8 ROMs (still no public WP8 ROM yet) for HTC HD2. Pdaimatejam ROM is based on WP7.8 OS 7.10.8862.144. Basically, it is ported from Nokia Lumia 900. So you can see Nokia applications (Nokia Drive, Maps, Music) and features there. Windows Phone is all from Nokia mainly now, right? And the very important stuff ~ it has automatic activation code for Windows Live.
Pdaimatejam WP7.8 ROM for HTC HD2
Energy ROM is my favourite custom Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM. But it is not updated for long long time like most of other WinMo 6.5 custom ROM. However, there is one custom Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM is still being updated in year 2013. Yes, Artemis Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM for HTC HD2 is the one. It is based on HTC LEO-S 3.14 (Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 AKU 5.3.12.10 – Build 29077) and HTC Manila Core v2.5.20221228 (HTC Sense 2022). And supports multiple languages like English, French, German, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish and Denmark. Rest in peace HTC… Oh, I mean my HTC HD2. Good bye, my very first smartphone. HTC HD2 was a great piece of hardware back in year 2009 (check out my HTC HD2 unboxing). It is the best developer friendly smartphone ever. Yes, you can run stock Windows Mobile 6.5, Windows Phone 7, Android, Ubuntu and Meego on HTC HD2. I don’t think there will be a phone that can do so in the future.
