Slow… Slow… Slow… My Internet connection is very slow since early morning today. Especially connection to US. Guess what? TM announced that there is a fault on the Asia-America Gateway (AAG) submarine cable network linking Malaysia to the United States and North Asia. Therefore, all TMNet Broadband customers who use Streamyx and UniFi are affected by this.

Slower than turtle?

Malaysia TM Net Streamyx users are facing slow connection speed due to throttle implementation on certain file types download. There are several ways to fix this throttle issue. We can use proxy server and VPN to bypass it. I tried several proxy servers but can’t solve the issue. Seem like the only way is to use VPN. There are free and paid VPN out there. So far, I tried free UltraVPN and Hide My IP 5.0 trial. Both of them are not working for me. And finally found Hotspot Shield from AnchorFree that is working fine. It is free but an adware.

Yup. If you are a Malaysia heavy download user, you might notice this already. TM Net Streamyx connection speed is being throttled. They throttle connection speed on certain file types such as MKV, AVI, RMVB… So your download will be very very slow on these file types. However, they are good enough to set happy hour (full connection speed) during midnight (time vary).

Streamyx, can you beat me?

I am a heavy YouTube user lately. Watching a lot of my next mobile phone HTC HD2 review. Most of the reviews are in HD mode. So is this SpeedBit Video Accelerator going to help me reduce YouTube videos loading time? Let’s try it out.
How is your Internet connection speed now? No more slow TM Net Streamyx? Hmm… I am still facing slowness when connect to my blogs which hosted at US. Based on Streamyx website, the connection speed should back to normal by 5 April 2009. But I did not feel that my Internet connection is back to normal. How about yours?

Yes, you are faster than Streamyx!
Will start to blog actively when the connection speed is really back to normal.
