I like Samsung Android devices because they have unlocked bootloader. Same apply to Samsung Galaxy Note II. So that you can modify it with whatever you prefer like install custom kernel, ROM, theme, firmware… However, install these unofficial stuffs will void warranty ~ custom binary download will increase, current binary and system status to custom in Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Odin Download Mode. No worry, you can always restore to stock Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to recover warranty back. Reset custom binary download to No, current binary to Samsung Official and system status to Official. How to unroot Google Nexus 7? That’s the question you will ask when want to send rooted Nexus 7 back for warranty claim. Well, unroot Nexus 7 is about the same as rooting Nexus 7, not that hard at all. Basically, you need to restore back to stock Nexus 7 firmware. And then lock Nexus 7 bootloader back. That’s all.

Unlocking your device may void all or parts of your warranty. That’s the statement that I get from HTCdev – Unlock Bootloader website when I tried to begin unlock bootloader. Well, you can ignore the may and parts words in that sentence. I double confirmed with HTC Malaysia (when I visited HTC Service Center in Penang). All HTC smartphones (including my HTC One X) warranty will void upon unlock its bootloader. No matter you install custom ROM, root it or leave it with stock ROM. Your HTC smartphone warranty is gone forever…
