How to restore stock ROM on HTC HD2? How to remove everything that I installed for Android or Windows Phone 7? I need to send HTC HD2 to HTC Support for warranty service because unlocking bootloader may void all or parts of your warranty. No worry, you can restore HTC HD2 to stock ROM and everything back to stock even after installed Android or Windows Phone 7. Just follow below step by step video guide.

Prerequisites

  1. Stock ROM

Note – make sure that you have downloaded a HTC HD2 official Windows Mobile ROM from HTC Website for your country. Don’t use other region ROM other than your very own region. As for T-Mobile HD2, do download yours from T-Mobile website. And use free unzip software – 7-Zip to extract the exe file.

Download DFT HSPL4 for HTC HD2

Yeah… DFT team released HSPL4 for all of us finally. Good news for those using latest official HTC HD2 ROM v3.14 because it supports SPL 3.03.0000. Note – SPL-3.03.HSPL only supports Windows Mobile 6.5. You still need to use SPL-2.08.HSPL to use NAND Android and Windows Phone 7. Make sure that you select the correct Hard SPL for your ROM installation.

Haha… I received lot of question on how to remove Windows Phone 7 from HTC HD2 and go back to Windows Mobile 6.5. Android on HTC HD2 had been out for months and I did not receive any help request to remove it. But Windows Phone 7 on HTC HD2 is not even 1 week old, people seem don’t like it and want to get rid of it as soon as possible.

Okay, here is the step by step guide to remove Windows Phone 7 from HTC HD2. Oh, you might want to revive your SD card first…

HTC HD2 is going to be phone of the year 2011 again. It came with Windows Mobile 6.5 in year 2009 and running Android 2.2 Froyo on SD card on year 2010. Just got NAND Android treatment last month. And here come Windows Phone 7 on HTC HD2. Who dare to say that 5 buttons’ HTC HD2 cannot support Windows Phone 7 now?

Install NAND Android on HTC HD2 with ClockworkMod Recovery is the 2nd method to have NAND Android on HTC HD2. And this can be done by using SD card only without PC. Just download the zip ROM to your SD card and you are ready to go. In addition, you can backup and restore ROM using Nandroid. Or you can try the 1st method through DFT MAGLDR Bootloader which requires PC with USB connection.

  • HSPL3 ~ SPL-2.08.HSPL
  • Radio that support 576 RAM
