HTC Desire HD is not here yet. But its ROM is here. You can download HTC Desire HD ROM for HTC HD2 now. It is using Darkstone Kernel and in beta 2 stage. Some of the things like camera, Ebook reader, ringtones, video playback and LED notifications are not working. But you can try out the latest and coolest HTC Sense. Do you miss hardware D-pad on HTC HD2? Personally, I don’t. But there are certain applications and games require D-pad to control directional. Then, the Virtual D-pad by xda-developers member, more_pizza is the one for you. It works on my HTC HD2 or any Windows Mobile devices that have WVGA screen.

I still remember that my first mobile phone was a monochrome and with very less pixels. However, the LCD technology really improves a lot. We have lot of variety of mobile phone display resolution right now. There are 128 x 128 pixels, 128 x 160 pixels, 176 x 208 pixels, 176 x 220 pixels, 240 x 320 pixels (QVGA), 240 x 400 pixels (WQVGA), 352 x 416 pixels, 320 x 480 pixels (HVGA), 480 x 640 pixels (VGA) and 480 x 800 pixels (WVGA). And most of them have the capability to surf Internet. The largest resolution the better when browsing Internet. You don’t need to zoom in and out every time.
