As usual, HP Compaq does not provide Windows XP Driver for these Hp Compaq Presario CQ20, CQ40, CQ45, CQ50 series which are Presario CQ20-125TU, Presario CQ20-126TU, Presario CQ40-101TU, Presario CQ40-102TU, Presario CQ40-103TU, Presario CQ40-104TU, Presario CQ45-127TX, Presario CQ45-128TX, Presario CQ45-129TX, Presario CQ45-130TX, Presario CQ50-104AU, Presario CQ50-105AU, Presario CQ40-115AU, Presario CQ40-111AU, Presario CQ40-125AX, Presario CQ45-107AU, Presario CQ45-108AU…

I have Windows XP driver for C700 series at HP Compaq Presario C700 series Notebook PC Windows XP driver. However, I do not have HP Compaq Presario CQ20, CQ40, CQ45, CQ50 series Windows XP driver. So where can you download Compaq Presario CQ20, CQ40, CQ45, CQ50 series Windows XP Driver?

HP Compaq Presario C749TU Notebook PC does not have Windows XP driver supported officially. Only Windows Vista driver supported at HP website. However, this notebook does not perform so well on Windows Vista. Therefore, we need Windows XP driver to make all the functions work in Windows XP. Everybody will be wondering… Can HP Compaq Presario C749TU Notebook PC run Windows Vista? Can it run with Intel Celeron 540 1.86GHz, 512MB RAM, 80GB HDD? I am using Windows Vista Home Premium to do the test. In short, Windows Vista cannot run on this system with 512MB RAM or less. 1GB RAM and above is highly recommended. Windows Vista uses up around 600MB RAM after boot up. Some memory was used as Video memory. It uses up to 800 RAM when play movie with Media Player. It does eat a lot of memory in Windows Vista.

Processing power is another factor we have to look into. Intel Celeron 540 1.86GHz which is single core processor will not run smoothly in Windows Vista on some applications. Dual core and higher frequency CPU is highly recommended. However, it still can run most of the office application, entertainment and web browsing. No 3D gaming with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator x3100. It is way too slow to run any popular 3D games. A dedicated powerful 3D card is required.
