Top Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread Firmware for Samsung Galaxy S2

Wow… There is lot of great and best Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread Firmware for Samsung Galaxy S II. Really hard to determine which one is the best custom firmware for Samsung Galaxy S2. Personally, I won’t stick with stock firmware which is XWKF1 ~ Android 2.3.3 in Malaysia. And still no update until now while other region already got XXKG3, XXKG5 and XXKG6. Thanks to all the developers who develops these firmware. Some ROMs don’t have Samsung bloatware included while some have. Try out all the top and best Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread ROM for Samsung Galaxy S2 yourself…

    hey friend

  • Chris Cheung

I can’t install the lLite’ning ROM from odin
it is only hold on step 6
    how can i do?

    • You cannot load into Odin download mode?

  • Alan

    Hi Chris,
I had same issue b4. Stuck at Update Firmware, FactoryIMGfs, for >4 hours. Sensing something wrong, I stopped ODIN and reboot my S2. Everything is as before and S2 remained with XWKF1. Posted my issue and one of the S2 forum member advise that before starting the flashing, ensure that KIES process is totally taken out by checking Task Manager in PC. It is ironic as we need to install KIES for the driver but KIES do not work with ODIN. Apparently, KIES ‘steal’ the port from ODIN and prevent ODIN from performing the flashing. This was what I had been advised. I had not the time to do another flash but will surely try again, sooooonn!:-(
Just wanted to share what I had been guided and hope it helps.

    Hey Jayce,

Thanks for setting out the top roms. Just wondering – are they in order with Sensation being the best. Which rom are you using personally?

I’m looking for a rom that looks great, without the bloatware, fastest and most battery efficient (arent we all lol).

Any advise would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Sand.

    • Sorting kinda from the best on top… I am using LeoMar75 now.

  • nelhidayat

I wonder why Cyanogenmod 7 is not listed? I’m currently using it right now. With CM7 my battery can stand for 14 – 18 hours (depends on usage) compared to just 7hours with when I use stock rom.

    Hi, great site – Thanks.
Last week I was on a page that listed many SGS2 custom ROMs with description for each, but I didn’t bookmark it and can’t find in my history. I think it was your site ? Are you able to point me to the URL ?

    Cheers

    • Not sure. Just click on the Android ROM picture to find out…

what is the difference between rom and firmware….can i install any firmware or rom on my sgs2 or there are specific ones???????

    • To me, firmware == ROM. As long as the firmware is developed for your hardware model == yes. Don’t ever flash other model firmware on yours.
