Package Content & Design
There are Xiaomi Bluetooth Audio Receiver, short 3.5mm audio cable and user manual in the package. That’s all. As expected, the user manual is in Chinese. No worry, it’s easy to use it. Just pair it like Bluetooth headphones will do.

Build quality is top notch as usual from Xiaomi. It is using solid polycarbonate plastic as housing and metal clip. Loaded with one multi-function button and LED light indicator. There are 3.5mm audio port on top and micro USB port for charging. By the way, it supports 4 steps 3.5mm plug (OMTP/CTIA). Yes, earphones with microphone and volume control are supported. And it is ultra-portable with 10g in weight only.

Performance Result
Yeah… Xiaomi Bluetooth Audio Receiver has excellent Bluetooth range. It easily passed 10m straight sight line test and manages to get connected up to 8m with obstacles. That’s great for a budget Bluetooth receiver. Furthermore, it has virtually no lag between video and audio. Great for watching movies on tablet and playing games on smartphone. In addition, it supports Multi-point technology which enable you to connect 2 devices thanks to Bluetooth 4.2. Yes, connect both your tablet and phone at the same time. As for the multi-function button, you can use it to play/pause songs, select next and previous track. And the 3.5mm port, you can turn your car AUX port into Bluetooth one with it. Yes, just connect the short AUX cable between them will do. By the way, Xiaomi Bluetooth Audio Receiver does not have built-in volume control and microphone. But you can control volume if your earphones / headphones has it. Same apply to microphone.

Sound quality is great for a Bluetooth receiver. Same apply to battery life. Yes, it manages get up to 4.5 hours on music playback test. That’s based on average sound level with 16Ω earphones. Shorter if play louder as usual. For driving power, I have no issue to blast my Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Headphones. More than enough power for most of the earphones out there. As for self-charging, it takes around 1.5 hours to do so. By the way, there is battery life indicator on your device. And it also prompt battery life status in voice notification when powered on. Yes, that’s in Chinese since this is not a global version. No worry, it’s not a deal breaker. The Bluetooth receiver function will work just fine.

I can live with Chinese Voice Notification. But need a confirmation about using Headset/Headphone’s Volume/Forward/Back buttons controls. Have you tested it while controlling volume from your headset/headphone’s buttons? Same question for Forwarding/Backwarding songs/music ?

    Thanks
