Here you are ~ Androidmeda HyperDroid ROM for Samsung Galaxy S2. The tagline ~ fast, functional and solid. The very first version of the ROM is based on XXKI3 Firmware (Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread). It is multi CSC, deodexed and zipaligned. Includes goodies like SIP over 3G, Jkay Deluxe Theme, EDT, BLN support, NTFS support, overclock, undervolt…

Jayce im on XXKI3 .. Polish firm .. nor which .. Root should I install ?? im confused between the insecure and the secure one ?? .. which will be more stable ?? Im running the POLISH ROM with old bootloader .. wud really appreciate ur help on this ..
and after Rooting .. I just install the Rom u posted here .. and thats it right ?
I dont want any kinda these .. so flashing this ROM in CWM is all that is need to be done right ?

    • This ROM is an enhanced version of XXKI3.
CF-Root secure or insecure, if you don’t use ADB, it means nothing to you. Both also can.
Just instal it with CWM will do.

  2. Jayce, just want to know which is the best ROM/firmware you have used/install?…i’m currently on stock xxki3 rom & kernel…tq

  3. I am new to android and rooting I have a G S2 coming and wish to gather the best app but I cant seem to download anything. What am I doing wrong

  4. Hi Jayce

Does this ROM include root access, SuperUser, Busybox and CWM Recovery? I have already rooted with CF-Root (on KH3 stock ROM), can I just use the concomittant CWM manager to install it, and should I wipe the data and cache partition first?

Your blog is awesome. Must be easy to have a successful blog with such great entries, and being a SEO Consultant! 🙂

  5. Hi Jayce

I installed the Androidmeda-Hyperdroid ROM from the link you provided, all looks very good so far.

Only issue: when I go into settings -> about phone -> it says my Baseband version is XXKH3, not XXKI3?

    For the rest it says:
    Kernel version:2.6.35.7-Androidmeda-DNR-v1.0+luis@ubuntu #1
Build number: Androidmeda Hyperdroid Amazing Aquila v1.0.0

      • I did wipe data and cache; I made very sure of it.

All else seems to be there though. Previously I did not have Car Home, and now its there – I don’t think thats a Hyperdroid thing, surely its a KI3 thing? It wasn’t there on KH3.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, it is much appreciated!

          • Oh OK…so it does not refer to the firmware? Then all is fine?

Maybe I’ll upgrade to stock KI3 firmware, check that the system info says it is indeed KI3, and then upgrade to this ROM, and see what happens. Will let you know.

            Shotz!

  6. I am sorry to bother you but I am used to clicking on a link and it starting the process. I have a friend who is schooled in computers as a guru but I am trying to save data for him!

  9. Hi Jayce, thanks for your wonderful site. Offers lots of info on SGS2.

I jus flash to tis hyperdroid 2.3.5 rom but now my baseband is showing as KI1. I previously on stock KI2 rom. Followed your advise to wipe both data & cache before flashing using CWM.

Any idea why the baseband is now KI1? And is it better to have KI3 baseband? TIA

      • Hi Jayce, I have the yellow ! mark now after flashing HyperDroid. I ordered a usb jib online too.

I have a few questions that I hope you can help advise 🙂

        1. Can I flash the stock kernel for XXKI3 using Odin and root the phone using CF-Root for the same XXKI3? to remove the yellow ! mark? (on HyperDroid now, but showing KI1 instead)

        2. Resetting the binary counter using the USB Jig, right after I flash the stock kernel in step 1?

  10. hi, jayce sry 4 all the mistake i made and i wan to say thank you for your understanding & patience. : ) Only issue: when I go into settings -> about phone -> it says my Baseband version is DXkf1, not XXKI3? any idea how to change my baseband version to XXKI3??

    • Baseband is the modem which I think control 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi connection… No sure about performance different as I don’t feel any changes from my previous baseband.

  12. Hi Jayce,

I am curerntly on XXKG6 2.3.4 stock kernel. Now my CWM does not boot to recovery mode because I flashed the stock kernel 2.3.4 to remove the yellow triangle. So the question now is that, how do I go about flashing this Hyperdroid ROM when I can’t boot to recovery mode?

  13. hi jayce, I’ve just rooted my phone. Before it seemed to connect fine to Kies and it showed up properly in Win 7. Now, Kies keeps telling me to reconnect the device in Samung Kies (PC Studio) mode – how do I get it into that mode?

  14. hi jayce, just got my samsung galaxy s2, using the original 2.3.3 gingerbread.xwkf1, and the phone gets heat up pretty easily. wondering if i change to this custom rom will it reduce the heat issue? cause i read on some forum where people used 2.3.4 kg1 and it reduces their heat issue of the phone.
