Download & Install NexusHD2 Android 4.0.3 ICS CM9 ROM for HTC HD2

XDA Developer, tytung has done a very well done job on bringing good ROM and GPS Libraries to HTC HD2. I tried his Froyo, Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich ROM. And now he has Android HTC HD2 ROM based on CyanogenMod 9. This is the version that he is currently developing and supporting. So whoever love to use Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich ROM on HTC HD2 should try out this very ROM.

NexusHD2 Android 4.0.3 ICS CM9 ROM for HTC HD2

Personally, I did not able to try this ROM because my HTC HD2 is not with me at the moment. So I have no idea on the ROM performance and features. You need to tell me after try it out.

Note – You need to use 165MB CWM partition layout size for V1.4. And do refer to XDA website for more info on how to increase the internal storage size.

    I have installed 1.4 on 250 mb CWM everything is working perfectly, except android market.
    as i intiated to download any app from app market, download start but as soon download completeed phone automatically restart without installing the app.
    and same goes again if i want to install any other app.
    what can i do???

    i am unable to switch off my hd2, when i switched off my phone i goes for power off but as soon it restart automatically. what can i do to swichoff for some time????

  13. Everything is great… except for the battery drain… but i think its the ICS and not about the ROM we got… I saw that it constantly tries to connect to Google+ and syncs my photos etc… so now my battery that used to last about 20-24hrs with WinMo lasts only 6-8hrs now… great… simply great…

    by the way can you point me where I can find the instructions for making a backup in CWM and how do I flash some update… example I want to install the zip in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1449040 … can you help me???

I just downloaded Android 4.0 it looks ok so far, i have almost same bizzare problem like evryone. my question is older version of pc suite is not suitable for the android 4.0. whatelse can you offer? I can’t take back any of my stuff from the pc.

  20. wifi issue: anyone here have issue with wifi like there’s no data flow happening? but I see the icon flashing up and down? or is it my type of Wifi router? it works ok at my works wifi…

    • I found the issue, its the Wifi Router, I have a generic one while at work I have a different brand…aahh yah!!!… still good HTC HD2 !! 🙂

  21. Hi, i did all that,everything is working fine with my htc hd2 but i am having the oldknown storage problem and i cannot fix it!!! i tried this

    when can gallery and camera and video playing problem will fix. i am using 4.0.3 on my htc hd2 but camera and gallery, video payer is not working. these applications starts but within 2 3 secs goes stop, sending report option comes. is there any new news for fixing these problems.

    now im waiting since 25 min. will my phone ever start or should i use an other rom 🙂

  34. followed ur instructions installed everything correctly everything works,, camera’s working but it keeps stops/ hangs at some point.., nd at android market i try to install an app nd it says error 505., on every app free or paid.is there anything i can do to make it better.?

  39. The new ROM (V2.0 HWA (May 5, 2012) works great! I have not yet found any flaws with it. It does take a bit to turn back on after reset or when turning the phone back on, but other than that…its great!

    • Components like SPL-2.08.HSPL, Radio that support 576 MB RAM, DFT MAGLDR Bootloader v1.13
      and ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3. No need to install them if you already have.

  44. Hi jayce,

    Did wipe data and cache in CWM then installed new ROM and rebooted the phone. Phone is stuck and intial screen (Colors flying). Repeated the process wipe data and cache in CWM and renistalled new ROM.

    Now phone doesn’t boot, and goes to CWM after giving error “NAND KERNAL OPEN FAILED”

    Tried to restore WINDOWS STOCK ROM with SD but failed.

    What can i do now 🙁

    • Hi Kamran, since you already restore back to Windows Mobile (but failed). HSPL might be removed. Restart the whole Android installation again.

  45. Hi Jayce,

    I did reinstallation of Android (All process) as advised.
    Now I am getting error message “SD KERNEL OPEN FAILED”

    Windows STOCK ROM is also not getting restored by renaming *.nbh to leoimg.nbh and copying in SD to get back to orginal window 🙁

    What to do now ? I am stuck. Please help.

    • Why you are trying to load SD card Android? You install NAND version of Android, right?

      By the way, don’t simply revert back to Windows Mobile when you are stuck in something during Android ROM installation.

        SPL-2.08.HSPL is install in my HD2. I can see below info when I go to red-green-blue-white screen.

        PB81100 HX-BC
        SPL-2.05.HSPL 8G XE
        0x05
        CotullaHSPL 0x50

        I understand from above SPL-2.08 is installed and by installing below and ROM phone should boot.

        •Radio that support 576 MB RAM
        •DFT MAGLDR Bootloader v1.13
        •ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3

        I did the reinstallation process 3 times earlier I was getting NAND KERNAL FAILED and now getting error message SD KERNAL FAILED.

        Any idea how to fix it ?

  46. Installed CWM as well.
    After installation CWM, when phone goes to MAGLDR, again “KERNAL FAIlED” message aapears. I ignored the message and proceed to next stage “ROM Installation”

    ROM installation starts and very next movement, message appears “INSTALLATION ABORTED”

      which rom earlier you were using?
      if you were using nand 2.2 or new one..than no need to install these three..just go to fourth step..press delete button go to 5th option in mgdlr..which is usb,,,flash it through 4 th step given below.
      just follow these steps

      STEP-1 HSPL4
      STEP-2Radio-Leo-2.15.50.14
      STEP-3 DFT_LEO_MAGLDR113_DAF
      STEP-4 Recovery_v1.3_250M
      (use 250 mb)

      than paste (NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA_V2.0) in sd card. run it through zip file..yes its zip file remember it.

    • my microphone is disabled in applications like skype, gstring, fring..
      earlier it was working with 2.2 frayo, now its 4.0.4 android..microphone is working fine with mobile network call..while i am using apps like recorder skype gstring fring..it shows microphone earror..and mice is disabled and hide position.

  56. Both camera and camrecorder do not work…. whenever I open the camera app, the app starts to lag then eventually it freezes. Then I would have to restart the phone… any tips????

    I put Tytung’s new 4.0.4 v2.2 on my HD2 a couple of days ago. (I put it on a 180 MB partition). First impressions – great!!! It actually feels lighter than the CM7 2.3.7 done by another developer I have been using for a while. At this point I really recommend it. Haven’t yet run into something that doesn’t work in it.

    Thanks for your videos. They helped a lot when I decided to retire the the old Win OS.

    Installation aborted.

    I tried the 150MB CWM and the 250MB CWM but i doesen’t works. I’ve done everything just like in the installation video on your site but it doesen’t works please help me!!!

    I was in USB mode on android beta 10 as I erased the sd card and then copy the CM9 ROM on the sd card that was empty and then i rebooted the phone in Magldr installed CWM and done everything like in your video. PLEASE HELP!

      • Do i need to change system partition beacause i dont find 170mb CWM on the internet to download 🙁

        • Now i’ve got another problem, when I try to copy to my sd card it says copying… and freezes, MAGLDR freezes too and if I put the card into my card reader it the PC doesen’t recognize it but only my card :(( This is the only 4 GB card that i have :(( what should I do?

              • Ok, let’s say I install 170mb CWM and I have got the brand new sd card, should I install ICS Beta 10 at first and then install ICS 4.0.4 CM9 ROM or should I install the ICS CM9 ROM directly???   76. Just installed IceCream (before was original Windows), but can not Sync. I am using HTC Sync 3.2.20 , on the phone there is downloaded app HTC Sync version 900, but no option to select Sync when USB plugged in. Your help will bw much appreciated.

  79. Hi Jayce, I used the phone for a few days, it was fine. and now the screen is locked and I can not slide to unlock it. Tried reset and unplugging the battery -nothing helps. Clock is alive and I still can get and answer the phone using hardware key. Is it hardware (touchscreen ) issue ? Any thought?

    • Sorry Tareq, I stopped using HD2 for quite sometimes. And did not try out the latest build. So no idea which one is better and stable. You have to try out yourself to find out. 😉

    I have installed ICS 4.0.1. using your links.

    Its has success fully downloaded and working fine

    But internet connection is giving lot of problem.. it leaves connection every minute also all the ringing volumes are too low to hear. Even camera is not working at all.

    Could you please suggest a way so that I can use 3G on HD2.

  87. Hi, i installed this OS and everything works fine. There is one thing that i am having trouble in. The internet works fine when the wifi setting is on. I am trying to use the internet using the data service provided by my network but for some reason its not working. Have you got any idea?

  89. hey Jayce, i’ve installed NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA_V2.5 rom …everything works great, but i have one tiny little problem: when i use the the slider to answer phone calls, my phone freeze and all i hear is a buzzer sound ….all is unresponsive…i need to reset my phone to use it again

      • patirck u need to follow the instructions carefully….. if u did the ROM u using now should should work perfectly….. i think this ROM is the best thus far…. try reinstalling it and if u face the same problems let me know and i sure will help ya……

Does anyone know how to put rom control task manager and jb sourcery tool on NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA_V2.6.zip???? i tried putting them in the zip file under system/app before i installed it. the install went great but when i tried task it was an error and when i looked for rom control it wasn’t there and when i tried jb sourcery tool it opened but it says only sourcery roms can use them. The reason i want these on this rom is because i tried them on other roms and they were awesome. So now im using NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA_V2.6.zip and one of the best so far i would like to know for my own to learn how to get make a rom or put files on them for my personal use. i would appreciate the help thank you

            • 1. HTC Sync only work on HTC Sense ROM.
              2. It is normal if internal disk space is running low.
              3. Use Android ROM that have A2SD+ feature.
              4. You can try this ROM.

  116. Phenomenal instructions specially for a novice like myself! Successfully rooted my HTC HD2 windows to HTC Nexus Android Sandwich, works great (when I get service) but 1-2 glitches. I use T-mobile and I noticed am at 1-2 bars to no service a lot . What configurations can I make to it? Also you tube video play is slow or it just won’t start. Would appreciate your help please.

    Camera is clarityless and laggy.. 🙁
    The worst part is i cant even play games smoothly all laggy 🙁 and apps too.
    Ram memory is 400mb i hope usally 195mb used if i force quit everything..

    So what i need to increase to increase the speed and smoothness of my ics 4.0.3 nexus hd ??

  121. please I so much need your help. i flashed this rom: nexushd2 cm9 onto the nand of my HTC hd2 and everything was working fine. then a month later my camera stopped working, i was still trying to fix my camera and my audio: the receiver, the loudspeaker and the volume buttons stop working. now i want to flash another rom onto my HTC hd2.please is it possible without the volume buttons. please i beg of you in the name of Almighty God, please help me.     i was trying to install android as per your instructions. bt there is some prblm to install DAF.Exe file of MAGLDR111. when ever i trying to run exe file… , always a msg shows tht “readme.txt for this release is missing”… what can i do now.. my phone is completely blank now… i m worried … pls help me….

          • I was doing these steps … one by one… bt prblm face with 3rd steps….

            Do take your time to study these guides. Then install them one by one. You need all these components in order to use Android 4.0 ICS NAND Android.

    I was doing mistake dear… was clicking DAF.exe in MAGLDR111,, instead of Recivery 1.13… bt now all done… I am so so happy…

    I told you last time that i have installed android successfully. phone was running smoothly. bt from last two days… i am facing problem with my phone… phone has been gone to off mode automaticly . and sometimes during the talk phone automatic gone to power off….. and from today’s mrng.. phone is not starting…

    it’s me again… , i have installed link2sd for trfr of applications to sd card.. and already done partition in sd card also . but still my phone memory getting low.. it’s showing 12 mb only in internal memory… how can i increase internal memory of my phone…

    I am still confused, if i choose another android version, then how many internal storage i get.

  141. I tried this rom but not able to connect to internet. I tried to talk to network provider for setting but all in vain. Please help!!! Aslo provide some like to download latest roms.
