  2. i have installed it and when switched on, it prompts me to enter the sim unlock code. My s2 is locked 🙁 . All functionality works well apart from calling, SMS, Mobile Data.
    Is there something i can do?

      • Jayce, AFAIK only changing the counter (not being = 0) “deguarantees”! Even root (if it’s not changing the counter) is ok. Of course the counter can be reset by Triangle Away, so the root will is still be ok. To be 100% sure when you give it back to service – make sure it’s 0 counter and stock ROM, de-rooted. In 99% you won’t even have problems with root and sometimes even with custom ROM (as long counter=0)! I know how strange it sounds, but I’ve talked with a guy working in Samsung service in Poland privately, and he said that most thing voiding the guarantee is the NON-ZERO COUNTER, and some obvious changed things like boot animation – so even the non-stock ROMs are tolerated, in case they are not associated with the hardware problem… Some things are simply not checked and suffice to say, don’t cause any problems 🙂

        • Just got second hand galaxy s2 and warranty will expire on 1 December. What is bad about non zero counter? Will it be problem for non warranty device?

    csc-lpc—-i wanted rom for my s2 other than 4.0.4
    Where i get rom for my phone please…my phone is dual booted

    I downloaded 4.1.2 jelly bean for GT-I9100 China Rom (I9100ZCLSF_I9100OZHLSF_CHN) from samfirmware.com, MY GT-I9100 handset is from the UK factory unlocked, It currently has ICS 4.0.4 , I tried to Flash The JB rom onto my phone and it failed many times, Can you tell me what I have done wrong? Can I not Flash a China Rom on to a UK handset? or is there another process? I would rather flash a Hong Kong JB rom but HK does not have it yet, I am in Hong Kong now,

    Please can you advise me on what to do

    i managed to install cwm after instructions from your site.
    i have tried installing lightning rom 2.7 and omega 19.1 JB roms , but neither works.
    is it true that installing a rom of another firmware will brick my fone ?
    i am not able to find many roms for my firmware, which is xwlp7
    Please help.

  30. i have supersu on my fone , and also have cwm on my fone , galaxy s2 g19100.

    I have downloaded 2 roms (firmware) on my sd card , omega 19.1 and lightning rom 2.7.
    both are not installing , it says initialisation failed.
    my kernel is
    3.0.15-I19100xwlp7-cl340913 dpi@dell134#3

    Please suggest the best new firmware(rom ) for me to use .
    I am unable to find

  32. Does it have all the features of official jeally bean (avaible through Kies) ?
    If not then can you tell me any way to get all those features…

    i am on ics on my sgs2 which i updated ota. but now many of my friends here in india having sgs2 have got updated via kies my kies says no update available, and my ota say no update available yet. what is the problem

    2. i downloaded official jb firmware from sammobile if i install this rom by using ur method shown in the intall official rom via odin videoon ur website will it wipe out my data on the internal storage…or is it better to factory reset my phone and then update via odin

  44. my s2 is from orange uk

    and when i upgraded it to ics….it gave kernel description as follows..

    3.0.15-1187368 dpi@DELL228# SMP PREEMPT wed dec 26 23:34 :12 KST 2012.

    obviously this is jargon and probably mentions the date and time when i upgraded it….but where is that kernel , those alphabets which i can try to match with cf root
    how ever in baseband and build version…..bvlpj …..is written which may sound something less stranger to you…

    So that s the reason I may have to use siyah but then can I do CWM with that and if not what is my alternative. ??

    I have downloaded siyah kernel for s2 v 5.0.1….not the ver 6 one as it was beta…is that okay ?

    second how to extract file …is it with 7 zip ? bec winrar give only zimage….???

  46. oh perhaps this is already tar file which does not need further extraction and i can straight away put it in pda………….ok ???????? i have odin version 3.7….does it make any difference ?

    one more thing jayce…..you said new kernel can also be flashed through cwm but unless one roots or flashes with custom kernel , one does not have cwm….so how can it happen ?

    got my self into a little trouble….flashed jb successfully on my sgs2….but its not reading my sim now….asking for pin code which unfortunately I don’t have and cannot arrange….that sim is working on every other mobile except this one….can I do any thing to make it working.

    I have tried hard reset too but to no point………….please advise

    in trying to root it again….with siyah kernel …i perhaps rooted it wrong way in haste…..now this is simply not booting….only logo comes and then fish sign and then every thing darkens again….have i bricked my phone, or can i still bring it to life ?
    please suggest.

  52. yes it does in a while….like I have seen CWM loading….I don’t know whether it would work or not..because it will depend if i had rooted it well ???? any ways its not charging properly….it quickly dies down….I hope i can also put it in odin mode after some effort..

  55. jayce it seems siyah kernel 5.2 is not compatible with jelly bean….every time i flash it..it gets stuck at that fish sign and doesn’t boot. any suggestions.

    one problem with s2…it allows messages only for 3 pages and then converts it into mms…any way to avoid this.. sometimes messages are bigger but it wont let you write them…so what can we do….any change in settings might fix it ?

    I am not happy with big sms type apps..

  63. My mobile is taking too much exposure time resulting in blur pictures. I have repleced the camera twice but same issue. In start it used to take pictures with average 1/1000 exposure time but now it takes pictures at an average of 1/20 exposure time. I am using jeally bean but i have tried to revert back to gingerbrid but same issue .

    Can you suggest me any app or any solution to it . Thanks
