Hi Eric, you can’t use OTA after rooted. Please use Samsung Kies to upgrade firmware.

But, it seems this update unroot my S3. I don’t see SU and CWM in the mobile any more.

Hello, this doesn’t seem to be working for my galaxy s3. I unroot it and I am unable to access apps that require root for example TB but when I go use sky go it still says it cannot work on rooted phones. I had the same problem on my s2 but then I changed the firmware and it started working. Any help would be much appreciated!

So, if I understand it completely ….. One can use Kies to update firmware, then afterward, you re-root the phone again? My S3 9305 is currently rooted and OTA fails to update. Also, where can I get Kies? Sorry for the newbie questions, just got it a week ago

I have rooted my I9300 using CF-Root. As you have predicted above, OTA updates fail with the dead android icon and the red exclamation mark. But, in addition I have also uninstalled some pre-installed apps. Can I still go ahead and upgrade to Jelly Bean using Kies?
Upgrade with Samsung Kies is okay when rooted. But I am not not sure about with uninstalled built-in apps.
