Yeah… xda-developer, imilka release another version of its HTC Desire Z build. This version includes advanced power menu, EVO keyboard with arrows, small performance improvements and most of all ~ it is rooted. The best part of Desire Z ~ HTC Sense Rotatable Launcher which includes Music app, Weather app, FM Radio, HTC Contacts in landscape mode. It is based on RC Team Z v0.6 build for Desire (Desire Z 1.72.405.2) with Android 2.2.1 Froyo and using MDJ S9.2 OC Kernel. Further more, it uses DATA.IMG at SD card as internal storage.
One of the main issue of NAND Android build ~ lack of internal storage space. Most of the builds have only 150MB to 200MB left on NAND memory. So we need to manually move the application + data into SD card ourselves. But this changed now, there are several NAND Android builds are using DATA.IMG at SD card to act as internal storage. Further more, you can increase the image size to match your large SD card. Sooner or later most of the NAND Android builds will use this kind of method.
I tried RAFDROID HD v1.0, imilkas` HD2Z v0.1 and FutureShocks MIUI v1. RAFDROID HD is slow, imilkas` HD2Z can’t be rooted, and only FutureShocks MIUI passed my test. FutureShocks MIUI is based on Android 2.2.1 Froyo, MIUI 31-12 and using prj v0.3 Kernel. Default language is German but you can change to English during phone setup.
After running Mdeejay eVo Sense Matted Android ROM on my HTC HD2 for months, I discovered that internal phone storage is running low. And I cannot install new applications or games. I found out that I set only 512 MB internal phone storage when I installed this ROM. So I need to increase data.img file size without damage my data in there. How to increase Android data.img file size for HTC HD2?
