How to enable Onda V820w hidden HDMI features?

I love Onda V820w HDMI output as I can use it as set-top box or game console. You can setup HDMI output on Windows 10 just like other normal monitor. And plug and play on Android. There is an advanced HDMI features on Android actually but hidden away. You get to select HDMI resolutions, scaling and overscan compensation once enabled. Note – root access is required though. Onda V820w Android font too small? Change it

Err… Onda V820w dual OS tablet’s font is a little bit small for both Windows and Android. Not an issue on Windows as fonts are clear and sharp thanks to ClearType feature. However, it’s kinda blur on Android. Is there a way to fix it? Yes, but root access is required in order to change it. We need to increase its LCD density from 160 to 210 dpi (which I prefer). You can always change to any value that suit you. Basically, this method works on every Android device. By changing LCD density, you can change the UI layout from phone to tablet. Or the other way around. Just don’t go over 220 dpi on Onda V820w else you will get phone layout then. By the way, the optimum dpi for Onda V820w is 188 dpi. But I prefer a bigger one…

How to remove Onda V820w bloatware?

Onda V820w dual OS tablet PC comes with several bloatware on its Android platform. Luckily, Windows 10 does not have this issue. Anyway, it is possible to remove these pre-installed bloatware. But root access is required. No worry, you still can have them disable without root access. Basically, the end result is the same – inactive except these applications still take some disk space because they are not uninstalled. All Onda V820w bloatware can be installed and disabled without root access except Onda Launcher. If you really want to remove / disable it, please follow this guide to do so.

How to root Onda V820w tablet? Yes, I root most of my Android devices. Same apply to my latest dual OS tablet – Onda V820w (Windows 10 + Android 4.4.4). Thankfully, rooting Onda V820w is not hard and simple as ABC. And the rooting method is quite generic and maybe it will work on other Onda tablets with Android too like V919, V989, V891, V116w, oBook 10 and 11. Who know? Just try it to find out.
