Want to take your Xiaomi smartphone to another level? You will need MiFlash ~ a ROM flashing tool for Xiaomi Android smartphone like Redmi 1S, Redmi Note (3G/4G), Mi 1, Mi 2, Mi 3 and Mi 4. And it also supports Mi Pad as well. It is like Odin3 if you are a Samsung user. You will get what I mean here. ADB Tool, Microsoft MTP & RNDIS and USB Driver come along with MiFlash. Therefore, you got everything ready to install new ROM on your Xiaomi smartphone. By the way, it is for Windows only. Yeah… More and more new Xiaomi devices are added. And MiFlash is still able to support them – Redmi 2 / 2A, Xiaomi Mi 4i, Mi Pad, Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, and more to come…

I promoted Xiaomi smartphone as very good and stable because of long years MIUI ROM development. However, I was wrong about this when I discovered factory data reset bug on Redmi 1S. And then another bug occurs when my mom use it ~ fail to send SMS issue. This SMS bug does not occur every time. It will fail to send SMS when contact number area code is missing. Example, from +60-12-1234567 to 12-1234567 only. You won’t face any issue when it has the full number with area code. Does Xiaomi Mi 3 or Redmi Note also have this SMS bug?
Finally, Xiaomi Redmi 1S users can enjoy MIUI 6 too after few months of waiting. Yes, the official global stable build V220.127.116.11 ROM is here for Redmi 1S. Users should start to get update over-the-air (OTA) in the next few days on your phones via the Updater app. If can’t wait for OTA update, you can always install it manually with recovery. So say goodbye to MIUI 5 now and enjoy MIUI 6 and newer Android 4.4 system. Yes, you can use Mi Band on Redmi 1S from now on too.
Fastboot mode is basically Odin Download mode for Samsung Android devices. They perform the very same thing. Let you re-flash partition, install new ROM on your device. Same apply to Xiaomi Redmi 1S Fastboot Mode. Redmi 1S factory data reset can’t clean my mom Redmi 1S totally. And Wipe & Reset function in Redmi 1S Recovery Mode won’t help too. In fact, it made it worst. End up, I need to reinstall a new ROM via fastboot mode.
Interesting… Android manufacturers do not let average end users access recovery mode easily. Because you can do something harmful to your Android device there. Well, Xiaomi is one of the exceptions. Yes, you can boot into Redmi 1S Recovery Mode via build-in MIUI Updater application easily. Or the old school hardware button method that I prefer.
