Which Android ROM is the best for HTC HD2? I have no idea. Why? Different people have each own need. So that we have lot of series of smartphones in the market. But HTC HD2 can try lot of them by changing the Android ROM on your SD card. Isn’t that great? Here is the list of my top 10 Android ROM for HTC HD2. They are based on Google Nexus One, CyanogenMod 6.1, MIUI, HTC Desire HD, HTC Desire, HTC EVO 4G, HTC myTouch 4G and HTC Desire Z. Try them to find out which one suit you the most.
HTC HD2 is getting more like a native Android phone each day. We are able to flash NAND Android through PC. And with ClockworkMod Recovery, we can flash NAND Android on HTC HD2 through SD card without PC. Further more, we can flash ROM in update.zip format, backup and restore ROM using Nandroid. Note – by installing ClockworkMod Recovery, your existing NAND Android ROM will be deleted. So everything on your phone is gone…
Prerequisites
Yeah… Here is the first T-Mobile myTouch 4G NAND Android ROM with A2SD+ that I tried ~ imilka’s Glacier Sense. It is based on RCS Touch v0.6 for Desire (T-Mobile myTouch 4G v1.17.531.2), Android 2.2.1 Froyo and using MDJ S10.2 Kernel.
In order to install NAND Android on HTC HD2, you must install DFT MAGLDR Bootloader first. And the good news ~ both LEO512 and LEO1024 are supported. This means US T-Mobile HD2, Europe, Asia and the rest of the world’s HTC HD2 are supported. Do read this post for its usage and more information about DFT MAGLDR Bootloader.
Note – by installing MAGLDR, you cannot boot into Windows Mobile 6.5 anymore. And Android on SD card is not working on MAGLDR v1.11. I tried 2 builds ~ Android booted and hang there. So everything on your phone is gone…
Prerequisites
While waiting for MDJ FroYo Glacier v2.0, another xda-developer, motoman234 came out another version based on T-Mobile myTouch 4G. It is a nice Android HTC HD2 ROM to try out while waiting for Android 2.3 Gingerbread ROM. Most of the things are working and you might need install Superuser application to gain root access for your applications. And I just noticed that the camera has face detection function (might be ported from HTC Desire HD).
