Package Content & Design
Transcend ESD250C TS960GESD250C comes well protected. Once taken out the SSD, there are quick start guide, USB Type-C cable and USB Type-C to Type-A cable.

Transcend ESD250C is a really nice and stylish portable SDD. All thanks to alluring space-gray hue aluminum housing. Light in weight too. Build quality is excellent as expected.

Here is the USB-C Gen2 port for ultra fast transfer speed. And white LED light indicator that flashes during file transfer.

Software
Transcend Elite is an advanced software package compatible with Mac OS, Windows OS, and Android system that helps you manage data. Available for both desktop and mobile. It can be downloaded for free from Transcend’s website or Google Play Store. Performance Result
3D NAND flash + USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface + UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) == Transcend ESD250C. Does it perform as fast as per specifications at 520 MB/s read speed and 460 MB/s write speed? Let’s synthetic benchmark results tell you so.

Hmm… The reading speed is lower than I expected in CrystalDiskMark. 325 MB/s sequential reading and 480 MB/s on writing. Better write speed but poor read speed.

Let’s try another benchmark tool – ATTO. Alright, here is the result that I want. Yes, it is getting maximum 568 MB/s read and 511 MB/s write this round.

AS SSD Benchmark has pretty much the same result as per specifications. Do refer IOPS and access time scores here too.

Anvil’s Storage Utilities gives almost the same results as AS SSD Benchmark. There might be something wrong with CrystalDiskMark test then. Other tools are working perfectly well on ESD250C.

As for real world environment, 280 MB/s constant writing speed throughout all the file transfer thanks to fast SSD controller and plenty of cache buffer. Rest assures that it won’t slow you down when copying those large games ISO or movie files. By the way, 65 GB file is being used here.
