Wide-angle lens tends to have barrel distortion (example, fisheye lens). Same apply to Panasonic VW-W4607H Wide Conversion Lens. It cannot escape from lens distortion. As usual, the lens is attached to Panasonic HDC-SD700 camcorder. Pictures below tell all the story…
Panasonic VW-W4607H Wide Conversion Lens distortion is quite obvious at wide open. How about when zoom in as the same view level as normal 35mm. Below shots were taken with W4607H zoom in a little bit (~2x).
Well, there is still little bit distortion. This is the price you have to pay to get 30% wider view.
