Testing Results
Fast GPS fix time is very important in GPS navigation device (because you can’t use it when GPS signal is not locked). GPS BAY i95 manages to get GPS signal lock in less than 20 seconds in car without any building around. You will be able to start navigate then. But will take up several minutes if have tall buildings nearby.

PhotoNAVI is a nice feature to have. You can navigate by just selecting the photo (with GPS coordinate data). GPS BAY i95 will bring you there. Besides PhotoNAVI, you can find your destination with road search, points of interest (POI) search and coordinate. And you can record your GPS waypoints while traveling with Track Log. Check out below video to find out more about PhotoNAVI.

Not sure where to go? Powermap Guide can help you then. Powermap Guide has information about hotel, tourist, restaurant, golf and other more. By the way, here is GPS BAY i95 in action video demo (simulation mode). Check out TFT screen quality, maps details, 3D junction view, navigation style and voice there.

Besides GPS navigation, GPS BAY i95 has other nice to have features like FM transmitter, music & video player, photo viewer and E-book reader. And bundled with some casual games. Useful tools like calculator, notes, scheduler and calendar are included too.

Things to take note
Speed warning limit is not working properly ~ always fix at 110 km/h limit. No 3D building views in Penang? Well, I can’t find Komtar Tower 3D building view during my ride to Penang. Hope that latest map and firmware update will fix these issues.

GPS BAY i95 is a nice GPS navigation system to be in your car. Loaded with Powermap Z9 Software with 3D junction views. FM transmission enables louder voice navigation and turn GPS BAY i95 into MP3 player through car’s speakers. Most of all, it does its job well ~ provide accurate navigation.

  1. Hey Jayce,
Have you tried Waze ? it is a social voice Navigation software for Android… and it is free. Tried out myself in Singapore, even the smallest street in car park can also be navigated..

  2. I once thought that my Garmin is the best until my friend compared his GPS BAY i95 side by side with me. Most area that I was having trouble of finding it using my Garmin device can be found using GPS BAY i95. I borrowed my friend i95 and went to Gopeng and it is just amazing that those small and Kampong roads were showing up.

  3. As far as navigation is concerned, the software play a lesser role than the map accuracy. GPS BAY i95 is loaded with PowerMap. The software is the same as Papago with the added advantage of much better and much comprehensive map coverage. I was once a big fan of Garmin and yet finding it a big disappointment when come to map coverage and map accuracy. Have to agree that when map data lacking the accuracy, it is just like garbage in and garbage out. So don’t complaint that Garmin didn’t perform as it is supposed to be. The address search feature of Garmin just turn out to be a big flop.

  4. Hi,

Just wonder GPS Bay out of business already? The official website is not available anymore. Facebook is not updated for long time. Land line is terminated.
