Touch X 3.2 SP1 that I tested is based on XXKG5 which is Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. It is fully odexed for top performance. And still have Samsung applications like Readers Hub, Social Hub and Music Hub (which I don’t use). Yes, the mighty Android phone ~ Samsung Galaxy S II does not have LED notification light just like iPhone 4. If Samsung Galaxy S2 is your first smartphone, you might not have any issue. Just press Home button, and you can see any missed call or SMS on the lock screen. But for users like me who coming from HTC HD2 with LED notification light, you might need to take some time to adapt to it. Or make your own LED notification light for Samsung Galaxy S2 by installing NoLED.

Yeah… We have official Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread firmware for Samsung Galaxy S II finally. XXKI3 firmware is the latest official leak Samsung Galaxy S2 firmware. And DarkyROM2 is the first custom firmware that I tried based on XXKI3. I read that stock XXKI3 firmware can easily pass 4,000 Quadrant score. Custom firmware should be better, right? Pink spot camera issue on mobile phone is not new to me. My HTC HD2 had this camera pink spot issue previously too. Issue solved after a hotfix patch. There is pink spot camera issue on Samsung Galaxy S II too. But there is no hotfix patch for this issue yet…

Download CyanogenMod Android 2.3.5 ROM for Samsung Galaxy S2 (CWM)

CyanogenMod is my favorite ROM for HTC HD2. It is fast and light. If you want the latest Android build, CyanogenMod is the one for you. However, CyanogenMod is not ready for Samsung Galaxy S II yet because it is still in development stage. Not everything is working like Android Market is missing on nightly v16 (based on XXKG6 but loaded with Android 2.4.5 Gingerbread) which I tested. For those who are not familiar with CyanogenMod can give it a try to have a feel on it. Do visit CyanogenMod website to learn more.
