Package Content & Design
NV1 comes in a simple packaging as you can see. All the information are printed on the packaging itself. Anyway, you don’t need user manual to use NVMe. Just plug and play will do.

Let’s have look on the physical outlook of the NV1 itself. Solid build quality as you can expect from Kingston. Ultra compact dimensions are perfect for Ultrabooks and thin, light notebooks. And virtually does not add any weight to your laptop with just 7g. Of course, it is usable on mini-PCs and kiosks as long as they have M.2 PCIe connection.

Performance Result
NV1 is the affordable entry level NVMe from Kingston. They have KC2500 for extreme gaming, A2000 and KC600 for high performance. A400 and NV1 are the easy upgrade that suitable for all general users that wish to replace their HDD. Yes, NV1 is suitable for desktop and portable device no doubt. Let’s refer to below synthetic benchmark results to know more about its performance now.

2077 MB/s sequential reading and 1742 MB/s on writing in CrystalDiskMark sequential Q8T1 test. NV1 performs just as fast as specifications no doubt. As usual, the results will vary according to hardware, software and overall system configuration. Do take note…

Interesting result from ATTO. NV1 is getting 2.9GB/s for both read and write.

Here are the AS SSD Benchmark scores. Just like other NVMe, scores are lower. This is normal by the way.

No surprise on Anvil’s Storage Utilities result. Almost like AS SSD Benchmark.

Yeah… 1.1GB/s constant writing speed. NV1 is loaded with a lot of cache buffer indeed. Fast transfer rate is what you will get. Period. Note – 65GB file is being used here.

36X faster than 7200RPM hard drive. Yes, that’s the PCMark 8 storage bandwidth test tells us. FYI, my 3TB HDD scores 11.20MB/s only on bandwidth test and needs 3 hours+ to finish all the tests. NV1 takes much lesser time as you as can see. Rest assures that Windows PC boots up, applications and games loading are much faster then.

Besides using it on laptop/PC, you can use NV1 to as external SSD. Just pair it with a compatible bridge box will do. Enjoy outstanding performance at a relatively affordable price. Much faster than SATA portable SSD for sure.
