Samsung is always fast on releasing new software update. Great software support I can say. Yes, here is the very first Samsung Galaxy Note 3 OTA software update. What does it bring? Improved stability. And from what I observed – it fixed the failed handwriting recognition issue and use lesser RAM (at 750MB now instead of 1GB previously). Any other improvements or bugs fixed?
Galaxy Note 3 USB 3.0 file transfer benchmark
Yeah… USB 3.0 support is one of the features that I love on Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It has new micro USB 3.0 port and cable. However, still the same old charger. Is it just a marketing tactic or actually working? Based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor specification, it does support USB 3.0 for ultra-fast transfers. However, does Samsung enable it on Galaxy Note 3? Let’s find out…
Wanam Kit – Customize Android 4.4 KitKat Nexus Stock ROM
XDA Developer, wanam has a nice customization tool for Samsung firmwares – Wanam Xposed. And he has another one which will do the same great stuffs for Nexus (AOSP) ROM – Wanam Kit. It will let you customize Android 4.4 KitKat AOSP stock ROM. Good for Nexus devices like Nexus 4, 5 and 7 (2013)… As usual, it requires root access and Xposed Framework 2.4. Loaded with few features like enable numeric battery, change colour and typeface of the battery text, skip music with volume buttons in this very first release. Rest assures that more features will come.
Test Samsung Galaxy Note 3 hardware functions before leave store
Plan to buy Samsung Galaxy Note 3? No matter you are getting it online or at mobile store. Do make sure that you check all the Galaxy Note 3 hardware functions. Thanks Samsung for still using the old good and worthy testing application – FactoryKeystring. Just like other Galaxy devices, use the short code to launch the program. It is very useful for first time Samsung users. Existing Samsung users should know about this, right?
Dual boot Ubuntu and Android
Want to try Ubuntu and still having Android? You are in luck now. Canonical has an application to let you dual boot both Ubuntu and Android. Switch between these 2 OS via Ubuntu Dual boot app. So far it is working and tested on Nexus 4. Other Nexus devices like Nexus 7 & 10 should work but not tested. Therefore, try it out if you want.
